I seriously doubt that Susan Rice lives in one of the ‘black’ areas of DC. I’ll bet she lives in a Lilly white neighborhood.

Where she does not even feel unwelcome, let alone unsafe.

I don’t know where Walter Reed Hospital is in DC. My kid was stationed there. She was warned not to go out of the gates because the area was dangerous

WR used to be inside the city limits of DC, but in 2012, that site was closed because a new, consolidated military medical center had been created in the Bethesda, Maryland suburbs about 5 miles north, that combines Walter Reed (Army) with the former Bethesda Naval Hospital. It is in a much larger campus surrounded by deeper grounds, gated all around and harder (but not impossible) to walk to or penetrate. And by the same token, harder for those inside to stroll outside the gates.

Many years ago I worked with a kid from Korea. In our office complex (a large nuclear facility systems engineering group), we had a good number of Chinese nationals as well. I would go to lunch with my Korean buddy at the office cafeteria and there was a table full of Chinese nearby. Besides his native language, my friend was fluent in a few dialects of Chinese as well as German and French (pretty smart kid). He seethed as he interpreted what they were saying about us. The Chinese table spent the majority of their lunch hours laughing and joking about the white fools and the “American apes who sweep the floors”, etc...

The other thing I found pretty surprising was the hatred between the Chinese and the Japanese and Koreans who all worked in the same complex.

Another thing I found interesting. We had one American guy, Frank, who was married to a girl from Thailand and they had a couple of kids. Every Christmas, they would fly to Thailand to see the grandparents. And every Christmas, another sweet little Chinese gal in our department would give Frank $500 to purchase some Asian hardcore porn flicks while he was over there. She would make copies and rent them out to the pervs in her local Chinese community.

Jesse Jackson said a few years ago, “There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

He also said he crosses the street in black neighborhoods.

Susan Rice lives in a very safe ritzy neighborhood near American University (Northwest Washington, DC) in a 5,284 square foot residence with an estimated value of $4,388,000.

Rice has climbed onto her platitudinous high horse again....

Blacks have the right to live and work amongst themselves if they so choose. Whites, on the other hand are raaaaacist, so are not entitled to exercise that right.

For the Clintons she was a diversity hire, for Obama, a loyal soldier, willing to take more than one for the team. Neither requires any measure of aptitude or competence.... she came up through a well to do political family that was strongly biased to the left with Muslim coattails.

(Susan Rice is married to Ian Officer Cameron, a former executive producer for ABC News...)

Has anyone had the presence of mind to ask the exalted Ms. Rice when she last took a stroll through Anacostia?

The comedian Chris Rock famously advised, “If a friend calls you on the telephone and says they’re lost on Martin Luther King Boulevard and they want to know what they should do, the best response is ‘Run!’”

That would be the Koreans, not the Chinese.

Yep. Arabs are starting to do the same thing. They have to be brave to attempt it. They charge higher prices to offset the risk they are taking as well as the losses from shoplifting, robbery etc. They watch their customers like hawks—they have to, and their customers resent them for it. They only hire people they trust, and that does not include people who look like their clientele—and they are resented for that as well.

The ugly truth is, if the ‘neighborhoods of color’ were as safe to do business in as ‘neighborhoods of non color’ there would be no shortage of places to do shopping. But actually saying that or pointing it out is, of course, racist.

I lived in DC for 4 years - nearly 40 years ago, and I studiously avoided going to the Southeast. The Chinese guy is correct. Rice is all butthurt about it, and I don’t care. When the SE section of DC gets civilized enough so that people who don’t match the hue of the residents can walk in peace there, then whites will go there.

EVERYBODY “GETS IT”

Housing patterns et al don’t lie. In the REAL WORLD people vote with their actions

Even the disgustingly sickening WHITE LIBS won’t live in The Hood

And the hypocrites NEVER WILL

In another deleted tweet, Zhao fired back at Rice, according to Bloomberg News.

“You are such a disgrace, too. And shockingly ignorant, too. I am based in Islamabad. Truth hurts. I am simply telling the truth,” Zhao reportedly said on Monday. “To label someone who speak the truth that you don’t want to hear a racist, is disgraceful & disgusting.”

WHATTA COMEBACK !! Hey, Rice, nice? Twoof hertz?

DC has not grown because of the things you mentioned.

Really? Federal spending has not grown in 30 years? 7 of America's 10 richest counties now surround Washington DC. Metro DC population has not expanded in 30 years? Maybe its not Federal Employees, but its certainly lobbyists, lawyers, financiers and everything else connected to government.

I have a video taken by a resident of the island of St. Croix starting about 24 hours before Hurricane Hugo hit in 1989 and ending about 24 hours after the storm passed. It devasted the Christiansted area where the tape was shot. The young guys who shot the tape were able to drive through the city after the sun came up the day after and the devastation was pretty bad. Hundreds of large expensive boats were on roads and swamped next to the shore and in the harbor. There was a large one story food market that has survived pretty well since it was a modern structure, and unlike the other commercial use buildings, it had not been looted by the roving band of dreadlocked native males. The reason why was the Pakistani owners and friends were all standing and sitting on the low roof with AK47’s at port arms.

The Chinese believe themselves to be the top of the heap when it comes to humanity. Theirs is the oldest functioning civilization on earth. So, in their view, everyone else is really not up to being fully human. This would include Japanese and Koreans as well as Americans.

The Japanese ‘Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere’ of the 30s and 40s as well as the absorption of Korea as a colony made Koreans and Chinese loathe the Japanese. People who regularly trace their ancestry back a couple of thousand years do not forget what happened less than a century ago.

I didn’t say that, just that the growth has not occurred through an increase of fedgov employees.

As to the lobbyists, etc. They are paid by private interests and bring money other than government into the DC area.

There is no question that the fedgov expenditures have greatly increased since the Great Depression.
