The Pentagon said on Wednesday it would send an additional 1,000 Texas National Guard and 1,100 active duty troops to the border with Mexico, the latest deployment in support of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.

Major Chris Mitchell, a Pentagon spokesman, told Reuters that acting Defense Secretary Richard Spencer had approved the additional troops on Tuesday night, and they would be assisting with tasks like logistical support and aerial surveillance.

There are currently about 4,500 active duty and National Guard troops on the border with Mexico.

...Last month, Mexico has deployed almost 15,000 soldiers and National Guard in the north of the country to stem the flow of illegal immigration across the border into the United States.

I want to see a wall cam, so I can watch the progress of the building of the wall.

“and they would be assisting with tasks like logistical support and aerial surveillance.”

In other words, nothing. logistical support is food, tents, medical, transport, etc.
Aerial surveillance means watching them as the walk across the goal line where they can claim asylum.

I am sure I have asked you this before, but is there no a website where you can go to get frequent updates on wall progress? Miles rebuilt, new miles built, miles under contract, etc?

Roll the calendar back just over a century, dig up and re-animate Blackjack Pershing, hand him his mission orders along with the troops/materiel to get it done, and get out of the way.

I have not found one.

I think they have to keep details as much out of sight as they can, to avoid drawing fire from Leftist front groups and extremists.

I suppose that’s one thought, but it seems like it should be public information, not secret. Accountability of taxpayer dollars and all....

Exactly. Smoke and mirrors. Like the whole "X number of illegals apprehended..........." Which means BP "apprehended" them, then turned them loose.

Means nothing.

Providing cooks and medical staff is a big help and will free up Border Agents to actually work on the border. They can also transport supplies and drive the buses with the illegals. They can build roads and maintain vehicles. There is a lot they can do, and it will be a big help.

Yes, certainly, the cartels need the American military to be their bitch and finish transporting the new Americans on this side of the border.
