In general, lefties are very emotion driven people who, like children, are always demanding things without any consideration as to practicality, costs or consequences. They just want what they want because it makes them feel good. And they are quick to lash out at anyone perceived to be an obstacle or who acts to moderate their impulses.
Trump thoroughly understands and exploits this weakness. He uses their emotional predictability and impulsiveness against them in an artful form of political jujitsu. Its a beautiful thing to watch.
