British oil tankers seized by Iran
The Daily Telegraph ^

A British-flagged oil tanker was seized by Iran on Friday night and was heading towards a Revolutionary Guard base, in a major escalation of tensions along one of the world's most vital oil shipping routes.

The Stena Impero had been en route to Saudi Arabia but made an abrupt change of course and began moving towards the Iranian island of Qeshm, according to data relayed by maritime tracking services.

The ship “went dark”, meaning its identification system was turned off, at 16:29 UK time and nothing has been heard from her or her 23 crew since.

Northern Marine, a Clyde-based subsidiary of the ship's Swedish owner Stena AB, confirmed that a “hostile action” had preceded the vessel's change of course on Friday afternoon.

Not spilling American blood in the Middle East because some British tub was allegedly captured seems like a swell idea to me. But I do expect the war mongers to crawl out of the woodwork when crockpots like Bolton throw dust into the air.

Well, the oil companies get rich, but since oil is an internationall traded commodity everyone else would have to pay higher prices so the only people who win are the the oil companies operating in places other than the middle east.

“Iran is desperate. Keep squeezing their economy.”

And the Globalist Democrats, including front man Kerry, are desperately trying to get Trump into a big war. They are getting even more desperate, the closer the arrests are getting to big name Democrats.

IMO, the Iranians have been told to create trouble now, and they will be rewarded with huge plane loads of cash when the Democrats/Globalists retake control.

Jefferson didn’t solve the piracy problem, he merely mitigated it. It wasn’t until the French colonised North Africa that they stopped doing that crap. Maybe Somalia and a few other states need recolonising.

Options:

1) Do nothing
2) Nuke Tehran
3) Send a pallet of cash
4) Something in between #1 and #2 above

“None of our business (but somewhere in the bowels of the State Dept. the demented John Bolton is laughing)”

In your mind when does it become our problem?

AGREED.

If this was a stand alone incident.

But something else will happen.

But you’re right about Bolton. He’ll want a 500,000 troop invasion.

I want none.

“Sounds fair. Didn’t Britain just seize an Iranian ship off Gibraltar last week?”

Are you sure it was an Iranian tanker?

Since piracy is commerce related the obvious retaliating should be commercial. Cutting off all Iranian banks from international banking networks and crashing the Iranian economy would be a good start.

“Not fair by any measure.
Seized Iranian tanker was breaking sanctions and subject to action.
Brit ship was engaged in legitimate business”

Kerry wants Trump to attack Iran? Yeah, no.

These are UK ships. Make THEM respond. IMHO. Sick of carrying their butts when they treat us like a redheaded stepchild, TBQH. Had a snoot full when I lived there.

Britain seized one of Iran's ships first. They left that part out. This is just a back door way to get President Trump in a war,

The UK needs to respond with a big BOOM!

The Brits have no way to enforce their safe passage.
The Royal Navy now consists of what? 2 frigates? and possibly a functioning carrier?
All the defense budget has gone to welfare programs.

BUT,,

Us American citizens will not feel the pinch at the pump.

We are self sufficient thanks to trumps deregulation’s and our superiority of having the largest reserves of oil in history.

If you pay extra, you can even fire an RPG, ATGM or small antiship missile at a Somali pirate ship. Not kidding at all.

The Brits apparently seized an Iranian tanker at the direction of the US. That makes the Brit tankers an international issue.

Option 5: Nuke the Iranian economy. That is the correct course of action I believe.

But as a rule the Middle East did not become a problem until the liberals got the government too limit our ability to get our own oil.

Trump releived the problem and we are now self sufficient and we could let Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz and the world would have to come to us.

This would destroy every Muslim economy in the Middle East. Which would force them all to come with hat in hand begging us to get rid of the bully in Persia.

Thus, maybe Alexandra Trump would do what Alexander the Great did to Persia, Silence them for good.
