So we had to have ENOUGH GOLD for every dollar printed?
I took finance as a freshman in ‘86 and don’t even know if they told us that then.
Doesn’t sound like something a republican president would do.
The price per ounce in the early sixties was 35 bucks to the ounce. If I remember correctly.
I havent a clue at what silver was. It was as cheap as the half dollar I suppose.
I Remember, we were taught in civics-in HIGH SCHOOL, that paying income taxes was voluntary and that the currency was backed by gold and silver.
Then came LBJ and Tricky Dicky.
Here...the state of NV is a huge producer of gold in the world. About 5 and one half million troy ounces a year.
Much of it under federal lease. Hire a producer to mine that stuff and put it in our vaults. Get back on the gold and silver standard.
