CATCHING A SECOND WIND
Cross country runners and other long distance runners have all relied on a "second wind" to finish their race; the longer the race the more "second winds" will be required. This physiological wind source is a timely aid in propelling an exhausted runner onward to the finish.
The phenomenon of the "second wind" has a spiritual principle, too. When the purposes of God seem too distant to continue, God provides a "second wind" to propel his people onward to finish the cause in which they are engaged. Indeed: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength..." (Isaiah 40:31)

Good evening, radu, and welcome home from your day at the museum. Hope you got to lead some tours, and it wasn’t too hot.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Howdy, Kathy.
We got extremely lucky today and had clouds and some rain showers in the area that kept the temps down quite a bit. Still muggy but bearable.
BUSY day at the museum. There was already a small group being shown around when I got there and another group of 7 practically followed me in the door. I got them. And the hits just kept on coming all day. There were four of us working and we all went pretty much non-stop. A great day.
But I’m whipped tonight. Can’t imagine why. LOL
Just came in a few minutes ago from watching a NICE “light show”. We didn’t get much more than a sprinkle, darn the luck.
Any rain up your way yet?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Have you been able to take Gizmo to the lake this weekend or has it been too hot for that? It’s been horrible here. Ugh!

Well, we got to sit in the shade under a set of vines at the lake yesterday. Gizmo loved being close to the water and licking it. Also stepped around some tree branches to keep up with him.
One more hot day today then we get the "cold" front tomorrow.

Well good. I was afraid it was too hot to even think about doing anything outside. With the heat index, it’s been too hot here. Whew! We’re looking forward to that “cold” front coming through to cool us off a couple of notches.

Penny and I have been doing our best to stay out of the blistering heat.
Today is supposed to be the worst of it.
Even getting out on the bike is too hot...when you are not moving.

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.
