President Trump on Monday denied Iran’s claim that it dismantled an elaborate U.S. spy ring tasked with monitoring key military sites, dismissing the reports as a “totally false story” amid rising tensions between Tehran and the West.
Iran said that its intelligence forces identified and arrested 17 Iranians suspected of spying for the CIA and that some of them have been sentenced to death. The announcement adds to concerns about Tehran’s nuclear program and its efforts to impede shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

The mullahs are getting desperate. The sanctions are causing ruinous inflation, food shortages and social unrest. They don’t have the hard currency to pay their soldiers and their goon squads. These seventeen “CIA agents” no doubt will be tried ad receive a quick public hanging.
I think we have other way to surveil them much more conveniently. Probably using their own CCTV if we wanted to.

...... The stronger the sanctions are the less money is left to spend on Terrorism. If anything we should be increasing sanctions.
Trump should assure them that all our spies are still in place. The people they trust the most are his best spies, including close family members.
Imagine how easy it must be for the Iranians to round up 15 people in that country, kill them, and just claim they were US ‘spies’.

Shouldn't they include at least one American for show, or does that complicate the diplomatic situation too much? Or maybe someone who has lived in the USA for a while?
