Most Americans have never been tested for HIV, and less than 30% of those that are most at risk for contracting the virus have been tested in the past year, according to a report from the CDC released Thursday.

Released Thursday on National HIV Testing Day, the report, published in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, analyzed data from 2016-2017 as said in a statement from the CDC.

An estimated 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, according to the CDC. Of those living with the virus, 1 in 7 do not know they had HIV.

Maybe that's because most people are not at any significant risk of contracting the Gay Disease. Morons.

I refuse to be characterized as having an "HIV Status." That is as irrelevant to me as a man having a "pregnancy status" or a bachelor having a "wife-beater status."

Indeed. Its ridiculous.

HIV/AIDS is one of the few diseases that is almost 100% a consequences of choices one makes. Even lung cancer or liver disease, while have a clear correlation to certain habits, are not comparable.

Most Americans haven’t practiced highly risky activity related to HIV.

If I get it it won’t be because of my own actions. Since I am monogamous and don’t do drugs, I have nothing to worry about. If I do get it it will be from a blood transfusion and then I will be kicking some rear.

This issue has been so politicized (like just about everything else), that I’ll bet the “stats” are WAAAAYYYY UNDERSTATED

Nevertheless, the CDC reports that 80% is M2M, and 80% of that are under 30

Libs don’t care if the young, naive are most of the “victims” Unless of course, it’s part of the “Gun Control” Mafia

Well said.

For those of us who have been , shall we say, “mutually monogamous” , our risk of any type of VD is nil. For those of us who are not IV drug users, likewise, our risk of getting diseases spread by those means is negligible.

Could we even say, for people not at risk, that it is a waste of healthcare resources, to test for such health conditions?

I have a woman friend (not gay) w lots of gay men friends.
She is shocked at how they really don’t care who, what, where or how many they bang.

She is hard to shock.

"Maybe that's because most people are not at any significant risk of contracting the Gay Disease."

True, but don't they check for HIV on whatever blood work you have done? I thought it was pretty much routine now.

Yes - just like them wanting homosexuals and IV drug users to be able to donate blood.

We know who will get it and how. But we don’t want to appear insensitive, so everyone might have it.
