Authorities responding to a report of a man struck by a train Friday morning discovered a backpack containing a suspicious device, police said.
The man is believed to have jumped in front of a oncoming A train around 6:45 a.m. inside the 80th St station near Liberty Avenue in Ozone Park, police said.
When first responders showed up at the scene, they discovered the backpack with a device inside, cops said.
It was not clear if the backpack was found on the tracks with the victim or elsewhere within the station

Sounds like they have virtually no real information about this incident.
I suppose the only thing we can say with rock solid surety is that it has nothing to do with Islamic Terrorism.

QUEENS, N.Y. - The New York City Police Department says a suspicious package found after a man was struck at a Queens subway station this morning has been deemed safe.
It happened at the 80th Street station on the A line in Ozone Park.
Police say the investigation started after receiving a call that a man had jumped in front of a train at the station.
When they arrived they found a suspicious device in his backpack left on the platform.
Sources tell NY1 it was a gray pipe wrapped in electrical tape with caps on both ends.
The man struck by the train is said to be in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital.
Subway service in the area has resumed but riders should expect residual delays.
