Amazing how many GOP-type Congresscritters are resigning.

They are *desperate* to overthrow the country by surrender to the Dems, aren't they?

Or do they have skeletons in their closet which Trump / Q / the Dems will expose?

“I’m assuming she will be replaced by another R?”

Yes. The winner of that seat will likely be decided in the GOP primary or run-off.

Thanks.

We got a D rep. on Staten Island for the first time in a long time.

But people forget that part of brooklyn is included, the asians and russians and albanians moving to the island vote dem and obama’s kids are abundant on the north shore.

The south shore of Staten Island (mostly Italian and a little Irish) has to start turning out YUGE for us to win it back.

I hear the sense of urgency i’ve not heard in a long time out here about voting next time.

Should have voted last time idiots!!

Just goes to show you that people really DO get the government they deserve. There are few things that piss me off more than Americans who complain about their political leaders — AFTER they’ve admitted that they don’t even vote.

Agreed.

But if we won Trump with 57 percent on Staten Island ONLY, then a HUGE turn out STILL might not offset the miserable part of brooklyn we got.

Third retirement this week. Being in the minority isn’t any fun.

They’re dropping like flies. Isn’t that the third GOP rep announcement this week? This is an even younger one, too—she is only 43.

Susan Brooks from Indiana announced she was retiring after this term back in June. Ironically she was the chair of the committee supposed to recruit candidates to run for Congress.

Third retirement this week??

Who did I miss?

Way to go for a majority, GOP.

Too bad NoNadler isn’t resigning.

Sigh.

My rep Pete Olson is retiring. He holds the seat that used to be Tom Delay’s seat. He’s a backbencher you almost never hear about, except for when he condemned Trump’s “love it or leave it” tweet.

It’s not because all of a sudden they believe in term limits. I think because Trump is nonpolitician President the lobbyist money has dried up for them. They can’t get rich from the government.

The a-hole Repube-icans are jumping ship to keep throwing seats to the DNC. It’s sickening. The GOP will do everything possible to defeat President Trump, lose the Senate and lose more House seats.

Good luck stopping the bleeding. People’s lives are being threatened behind the scenes, all in an effort to get more DEMs into Congress. Not a damn thing we can do about it (at least willing to do about it). When Trump is gone, whether in 2021 or 2025, we’re done as a country.

More likely they’ve been caught at some level of misbehavior. Or at the very least don’t like being blackmailed.
