Government prosecutors filed a motion Friday to get permission to show a clip from The Godfather Part II during the trial for Trump associate Roger Stone. The roughly 4 1/2 minute scene, the prosecutors say, is one that Stone referenced in conversations that allegedly constituted witness tampering, according to court documents.
Stone, an associate of President Trump and a longtime GOP operative, was indicted in January by former special counsel Robert Mueller on charges of impeding a congressional investigation, lying to Congress and witness tampering. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and will stand trial in November.

Some “Gilligan’s Island” would be good.
Like the episode where Gilligan screwed up their rescue / way to get off the island.
Always my favorite.
Like the “misunderstanding” episode of “Three’s Company”.
Why is Stone even having to defend himself after the findings showed no crime with Trump? And these creeps that started this crap aren’t doing time. PO’D!
The defense should be allowed to show a few hours of kangaroos milling about videos.
I’d appreciate a link, thanks...
Who is the judge and why isn't the case dismissed for idiocy like this. How many of us have referenced the Godfather over the last 30 years - I would guess all of us at some point or other. It's social commentary.
And, if I were a juror and the prosecution did that to me I would hold to not guilty because the prosecutor is a ass - that's another literary reference [Dickens Oliver Twist for those bent (but I am being redundant) prosecutors out there who might be reading our emails].
Frank Pentangeli was an all-time great. No one else could cover for Fat Clemenza, but Frank came close.
Interestingly, Fat Clemenza (Rich Castanzo) and Young Clemenza (Bruno Kirby) were both in a short lived sit-com “The Super”
I’d go for any scene from Blazing Saddles. “Gabby Johnson is right!”
Seven Days in May is a 1964 American political thriller film about a military-political cabal's planned takeover of the United States government in reaction to the president's negotiation of a disarmament treaty with the Soviet Union. The picture was directed by John Frankenheimer; starring Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Fredric March, and Ava Gardner; with the screenplay written by Rod Serling based on the novel of the same name by Fletcher Knebel and Charles W. Bailey II, published in September 1962.
Howz about Idiocracy, which is a document of the progressive future?
Howz about Idiocracy, which is a document of the progressive future?
Well, the prosecution will undoubtedly be speaking in authentic frontier gibberish!
What about Stone asking to show The Trial by Franz Kafka:
“Someone must have been telling lies about Josef K., he knew he had done nothing wrong but, one morning, he was arrested.”
And the trial section of the Jerk with Steve Martin (with judge and jurors all afflicted with the problem he was accused of causing.)
And Stir Crazy where Gene Wilder finally understand he and Richard Pryor are totally innocent but are going to prison.
Enough good movies and the judge will say Stone can just go home.
Wow.
Dems Crazy.
Okay, now that thats proven, here is Putin singing like Fats Domino.
Will Stone say to the jurors later. "I heard you were hung."
Jurors: "They were right!"
Wrong. It was because his brother from Sicily was there.
I have a feeling that this is a kangaroo Court and Roger will be found guilty no matter what. A Stalin era show trial would be a better description. Set up by the guy, judging by the posts I read yesterday, much admired here. Former FBI Director Muller.
