In 2013, then–U.S. president Barack Hussein Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to liberal "feminist" Gloria Steinem. This is the highest honor the U.S. bestows on civilians. Freedom for what, you might ask? I'm not sure, considering that Steinem is a champion for abortion. Seems a tad oxymoronic to be for women's "rights" while ignoring the rights of all of the unborn women in the process.
Steinem had this to say about me and the millions of other women like me: "[Housewives] are dependent creatures who are still children ... parasites." Okay, well, I wasn't yet born when she said that, but I still find it quite offensive and degrading, especially in today's culture that's all about "empowering women." And this is the woman who was awarded a medal — by the president of the United States!

The way this country has gone, a man needs marriage like a fish needs a bicycle.
I hope I can make sense here. I’ve been thinking about the left and how they LOVE to grow government, because the bigger government is, the more $$ they need and the less we have. They are parasitic in nature - they can’t produce anything on their own they can only skim off what the private sector produces.
And then this article shows up and there these feminists are, calling housewives parasitic, and aiming that women should not be at home but should turn their children over (not saying that in so many words but ..) to the state. The left re-routes everything so that it flows through them, so that they can grab a piece of it. That is not freedom.

A housewife has to perform the jobs of three or four people.
Really; that language should set off alarm bells for people. When trains entered concentration camps, the elderly and very young were sent off for immediate execution while those who could work were sent to be worked until they died (or were killed). Nazis sold people on this idea by using language like this...
Bump! My Mom was a housewife until my brother and I got into our teens. Then she went to college, graduated with honors and began what she called 'my second career' as a school teacher.

Yes, MANY aspects of feminism are to MAKE women more male-like. THAT is even evident in the sexual freedom they want women to explore, with as much disregard to the consequences as males have for ages been chided for doing. But what was once noted as wrong with many males, feminism wants women free to explore.
And the male response to that stupid comment: a man needs a woman like an airplane needs an anchor.
