BTW, while sympathetic to the possible claim (on the senator’s statement only at this point) that she is experiencing medical problems, having a difficult pregnancy and being poor does not constitute a legitimate case for asylum under any reasonable definition of the concept. In the end, Senator Wyden’s use of the woman and her medical difficulty is a sham, a false appeal to emotion.
He mentions hundreds or thousands who (we presume) might be in similarly difficult circumstances (medically). Let’s put a number on it for discussion purposes. Say, 5,000? No, make it 10,000. There have been over 600,000 apprehensions for illegal entry on the southern border just since the beginning of the year. (Even more have actually crossed since ICE cannot intercept and arrest all ILLEGAL border crossers.)
What does the senator have to say about the remaining 99.98% of border violators?
Arrest him for aiding and abetting. As the Dems like to say, “No one is above the law.” Not a President and certainly not a US Senator.
And while we are at it, reeducate the ICE agents about not being intimidated by a grandstanding senator/congressional representative. (I’d say congress man or congress woman but Democrats are opportunistcally gender-fluid, so let them stew in their own juices.)
They didn’t arrest the mayor of Oakland for tipping the ICE raids. They didn’t arrest Kevin De leon for admitting he helped half his family sneak into the country. they didn’t arrest those who help illegals hide from the raids two weeks ago. They didn’t arrest Corey booker for walking illegals across the bridge. They didn’t arrest the governor of California for going to equator and encouraging illegal immigration. And there are numerous other democrats aiding and abetting law violations. If hillary clinton and Obama are free, these others will stay free. Laws are for people like you and me, not politicians.
So, hey aren’t going to arrest this guy.
When you think Trump is serious on reducing illegals give these examples some thought. Ask yourself why didn’t he seek funding from Ryan and Turtle the day after the election and when it didn’t happen declare an emergency on Jan 21, 2017.
The facts on illegal immigration remain bad. the rhetoric and tweets have been BS. You announce 1 million to be deported and then 2,000 in one week, when more than that are crossing the border. Net result more illegals.
So far he gets an F- on reducing illegals, anchor babies, and such.
