Master of the Tweet
American Thinker.com ^ | July 31, 2019 | J.R. Dunn

Now that the threat of impeachment has dwindled away to nothing, the time has come to clear the decks for 2020 by removing all further impediments, obstacles, and annoyances from the path of Donald Trump. A crucial part of this effort will be closing the book on all further criticism of DJT’s tweets.

We have all seen no end of pieces criticizing, condemning and apologizing for Trump’s use of the tweet as his major weapon for undermining the left-wing media monopoly, driving his opponents into a frenzy, and striking fear and confusion into the left. In truth, seldom if ever are Trump’s tweets mentioned in any context at all without the writer shuffling his feet, dropping his head in shame and whimpering, “Maybe he shouldn’t do that… uh, right?”

Not all these people are #NeverTrumpers. Many of them mean well, and are sincerely concerned with the impression that Trump makes and the unintended consequences that may result. But all of it, no matter what the intent, is without exception an exercise in missing the point.

That point is that DJT has honed the tweet, which on the face of it is no more than a social media comment limited in wordage to 280 (though most tweets use much fewer), where only basic concepts can adequately communicated, into a powerful weapon, a means of communication operating beneath the level of media interference that speaks to the public in language that voters understand and deals in concepts that are so intertwined with synthetic PC regulations that they can be handled publicly in no other way.

This marks Trump’s major contribution to the politics of the Infowave epoch, one that no one foresaw and that no one knows how to deal with.

WTF? I clearly had my thread in before yours, but they yanked mine.

Well, it is a good subject, but that irritates me. Besides, it is you, so I guess I can get by without much whining.

I thought the last paragraph was the best:

"...Clearly, the mighty American left has been reduced to a posse of neurotic twitches trembling as they wait to see what DJT tweets next. How many other 73-year-olds have mastered the internet to this extent?

To deprive Trump of the tweet would be to deprive Cyrano of his sword, Bond of his Walther, or Richtofen of his Fokker Triplane. It would be worse than a blunder, it would be a crime. The GOP and conservatism in general have been on the run for decades. It was Donald Trump who turned this around, and in no small part due to the weapon he has created in the aggressive tweet. It’s time to recognize that the 1890s are long over, that the day of white-glove politics has ended, and that any weapon is acceptable against the kind of trash that comprises the modern American left. Trump’s supporters should not be criticizing him or turning away in embarrassment – they should be paying close attention to learn how it’s done."

Just brilliant!

Wow, judging from the screams of the DNP (Democrat National Press) how much worse would Baltimore be today were it not for the stellar democrat management o’re the past 5 decades?

Two or three times the number rats per block?

Sometimes billions of dollars are not enough to do a job right.

Just let The Donald be The Donald, and get out of the way.

Too many of these people are trying too hard to make themselves relevant.

FDR was largely successful president because he mastered first the use of the radio.

I read a great book by Cory Lewandowski (Trump’s campaign manager at one point) called “Let Trump be Trump” which was great!

Heh, it did have an anecdote in it I found hilarious, which made me like Trump even more I have to do this from memory because I only have the book on audio)

There were two women in the media team of Trump’s campaign who were involved in a contentious love triangle, and things came to a head right before a campaign stop. One of the women was one of his speechwriters, I think, the other was a media person.

The speechwriter got so upset at the other woman involved with the same guy she was, that she had to leave the campaign event and didn’t see Trump give his speech. When she returned to the plane, Trump was sitting in his favorite spot they always had set up for him on the plane. It was a place where they placed a bunch of newspapers and magazines for him to read, and when he sat down, nobody would disturb him.

I guess it was his “quiet time”.

So he sits down, and the sulking speechwriter comes aboard and walks by Trump, who pauses reading asks her how she liked his speech, and without much elaboration she says she didn’t see it. Trump didn’t display much reaction, and went back to reading his newspaper, held up to hide his face.

The other woman in the love triangle boarded Trump Force One soon thereafter, and two women began to argue with each other.

The argument got louder and louder, and everyone began glancing nervously at both Trump reading his paper and the two women who were approaching the shouting stage, knowing Trump didn’t want any distractions while he read his papers.

As the spat reached a crescendo, Trump lowers the paper and yells: “Cat Fight!” And just as quickly, goes back to reading the newspaper!

I think the reason that it is so powerful and destructive to the Left is that Tweeting allows Trump to simply bypass the filter of the Media.

In the past, when the President said anything in a speech or interview, the media had free reign to present it in any fashion they wished and to frame it any way they liked. They could filter the message before presenting it to people who were dumbly accepting of anything they said.

Now, Trump simply bypasses that filter. His comments come completely unfiltered to millions of people, which means the media can only apply their filter after the fact, and EXACTLY what the President said is available to millions of people in its completely UNFILTERED mode.

Brilliant, just brilliant. In a single step, he gets past the shield of the Media to stick the fork in the Leftists in any manner and any place he chooses, and there is NOTHING they can do about it!

How does one spot a troll on FR with severe TDS?

They constantly clutch their pearls after each Tweet by our president.

Then, they apologize for his bad behavior, in spite of him being correct with his Tweets, or say they will never support this evil man again.

While they are soiling themselves, President Trump has slain or struck a future mortal blow on another left wing target.

We just had someone the other day who has been around for a while who was banned for just that kind of thing. (I checked his account, it was no longer active) I was surprised, but the guy’s posts annoyed me too. Must have got Jim Rob’s attention.

It’s part of the reason the media hate Trump he doesn’t need them,
if you combine the evening news audience of NBC ABC and CBS add the primetime audiences of FOX CNN and MSNBC and toss in the circulation of the top 10 US news papers like WaPo NY Times LA Times USA today etc. And you would reach about 29 million people
Trump has 62.5. Million Twitter followers
