Trump says Ratcliffe is no longer his pick for director of national intelligence
CNN ^ | 8/2/2019 | Allie Malloy and Kaitlan Collins

President Donald Trump says Rep. John Ratcliffe will no longer be nominated as director of national intelligence to replace Dan Coats. "Our great Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe is being treated very unfairly by the LameStream Media," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Rather than going through months of slander and libel, I explained to John how miserable it would be for him and his family to deal with these people John has therefore decided to stay in Congress where he has done such an outstanding job representing the people of Texas, and our Country. I will be announcing my nomination for DNI shortly." Trump privately voiced concern in recent days about Ratcliffe's ability to be confirmed as the next director of national intelligence, according to two people who spoke with him. Trump had been assured by allies before selecting Ratcliffe that he would be an easy pick, and so the president was surprised when Ratcliffe started facing issues from senators who had their own concerns.

What about those thinking rationally about the long game?

Ahahahahahahahahaha.

When is it time to admit conservatives got played by Trump…

You're very wordy, and very wrong.

When is it time to admit conservatives got played by Trump, who said all the right things, but at the end of the day was unwilling to either call out the militia and/or declare certain states/departments in rebellion?

LOL. POTUS is the best thing that has happened for conservatives since Reagan. He has given us a great gift exposing the beltway sewer for all to see.

Apparently, you haven’t been paying attention to the behavior of “Trump’s Generals”. The “militia” now plays for Team Deep State. There is nothing for him to “call out.” Normalcy bias reigns and the slouching toward Gomorrah continues apace.

Rep. John Ratcliffe is very needed in the House. So this is a good thing.

Didn’t McConnell say the President should be all to have the people he wants in his administration ? Oh yeah, that was for Obama.

The GOP as an institution...

...is what I call "Leftist Light".

"Tastes Great" (to those who love socialism), but "Less Filling" (than immediate full-blown socialism).

In many ways the GOP is worse than the Delusional Dems because the GOP is SUPPOSED to know better. But generally the GOP is on the take just as bad as the Enemy-Within Dems.

General Flynn (recess appointment)

Please no. Anyone who meets with the FBI as he did without an attorney present has zero common sense...

Putting Rogers in charge will send shock waves throughout the Deep State. How can he possibly be opposed?

Heh, wouldn’t that be great! He is a true patriot, but he may have made the final decision to just leave all that behind.

I think his actions demonstrate he was the only one taking security, law, and privacy seriously.

Unless we can get rid of the surveillance state...we need people like him. I don’t think it is possible to get rid of it now, though. But one never knows.

I understand what you mean, but I wouldn’t be so hard on him. When he met with them, he thought he was working with both peers and fellow Americans. Boy, was he ever wrong on that.

He had no idea he was being set up.

Honestly, I’d rather have Ratcliffe in the House.

I agree.

Trump should leave the DNI position vacant and announce that he (POTUS) will act as DNI, then hire Flynn as his “administrative assistant “.

Ha! I like it!

President Trump has withdrawn the nomination of John Ratcliffe because both wings of the most corrupt deep state apparatus had formed a hardened defense in the SSCI:

Let me be perfectly clear. The issue is the SSCI.

Deep State Center Holds – John Ratcliffe Nomination Withdrawn…
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/08/02/deep-state-center-holds-john-ratcliffe-nomination-withdrawn/

Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). The SSCI is the bunker, the intelligence manipulation operations headquarters. The SSCI is where the political nuclear weapons (black files and IC gathered political surveillance research) are housed. As a direct consequence the SSCI is the most corrupt and manipulative committee in all of congress.

I hope he chooses Ratcliffe for something big, like Director of FBI.

Get rid of that horrific, grinning, disloyal WRAY.

The issue is the entire GOP Senate. Can there be any doubt the US Senate is the bottom of the beltway sewer?
Cotton and Rubio are racing to see who can be the biggest disappointment in the Senate. Rubio had the early lead but Cotton’s pathetic non performance on the SSCI is bring him in contention.

Embarrassed to admit I voted for Romney. Also, voted for McCain. After Trump I never vote for a Mormon for dogcatcher or Senator for POTUS ever again.
