They want psych exams. Just like anyone who doesn’t believe the government narrative is a ‘conspiracy theorist’. This is what the Red Flag laws are for.
There was some professor, University of Michigan IIRC, who said that psych exams are needed, and wanting to own a gun in the first place is an indisputable sign of mental illness that should prevent someone from owning a gun.
Then once you have a psych exam, you fail since that is a disqualification on the gun purchase form.

Totalitarian governments ALL have so-called “Red Flag” laws, as they encourage the people to spy on and report each other; it makes the government’s job easier. And a requisite function of red flag laws is to deem those reported on as “mentally ill” or “unstable,” which gives the government the excuse to toss those people in gulags or have them executed. ALL totalitarian governments practice this, and that is why the Democrats love it so much.
