That it be a perfect, organized display (Have you ever tried to line up 40 children, let alone 400?) is less important than making a profound statement to mark the 400th anniversary of Africans being brought to Fort Monroe, in Hampton, Va., to be enslaved.

Why would they be wearing white tee shirts? Most likely the slaves that were taken were naked or at the most donned loincloths.

Okay, slavery was the “original sin” but Abraham Lincoln died for us so we are forgiven. Now let’s move on.

Actually the word “kidnapped” was invented in the seventeenth century to describe slavers who roamed Ireland and Scotland’s port stealing children for enslavement in the new world.
And white men didn’t kidnap the Africans and sell them into slavery. It was other black men.
Sadly, there’s a lot of truth in that.
Yeah, I’m sure they would like to pretend the evil white colonists sailed to Africa and hunted down the slaves for a bounty, instead of the truth.
Iceberg Slim wrote in the 1960s that it was the job of a pimp to make his hoes forget that Lincoln ever freed the slaves. Make them fearful to step out on their own.
There are more slaves in Africa TODAY than were ever taken to the US, in total.
