Amnesty International US Travel Advisory
Yup, yesthatjallen. Desperately seeking relevance...
Yup. 2 dangerous so stay in your own country.
Utter hogwash.
This is perfect! Everybody not a citizen of the United States should shelter in place abroad. Too dangerous to come here!
Not to tip my hand, but I work in an airport, inter-national terminal, “meeting” many foreign travelers.
Generally speaking, many of them are Euros coming to spend money in Disney/Vegas/Miami. I doubt they’ll be scared by lunatics like AI.
The rest, here to scam our welfare system. GOOD! Keep OUT!!!
We should post this warning at the US/Mexico border.
Amnesty International is not to be bothered with. :Pretty much anti-American.
bump
F AI. seriously
And relevance they shall attain.
Any plans?
They are right, but for the wrong reason.
Most definitely, there are lots of places in the US that aren’t safe to enter. Random mass shooting events are the least of your worries as a tourist.
The equator people stampeding northward won’t buy that and won’t care anyway.
I mentioned on such a story on FB about states like Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Montana, the Dakotas, and elsewhere like that that immediately border Canada and that they have very casual firearms laws (many have constitutional carry for handguns) and that is accompanied by crime and violence rates that are about the same level as the neighbouring Canadian province(s).
You wouldn’t believe some of the reactions I got, as if people really are that determined to keep on believing those myths and stereotypes about firearms and the ownership culture of the U.S.
Now Trump can close the border and say he’s doing it for the safety of the illegal aliens.
Good idea. Stay home.
Reality never impinges on these people does it.
Amnesty International ordered to return donation from billionaire George Soros
Standards in Public Office commission deems 137,000 donation in breach of law

George Soros: Amnesty said the Soros grant accounts for nearly 2.5 per cent of its total annual income, but returning it would set a dangerous precedent.
Amnesty International has said it will not obey an instruction by the States ethics watchdog to return a donation from billionaire George Soros to fund its campaign to overturn Irelands abortion ban.
The Standards in Public Office commission (SIPO) has instructed Amnesty International to return a 137,000 donation from the Soros-funded Open Society Foundation.
Refusing to obey, Amnestys chief executive, Colm OGorman, told The Irish Times: Were being asked to comply with a law that violates human rights, and we cant do that.
It got the money for its My Body My Rights campaign, which advocates the repeal of the Eighth Amendment and the introduction of laws providing for abortion in Ireland.

However, SIPO said the donation breached Irelands Irelands campaign finance laws, which prohibit foreign donors making donations to groups involved in elections, or referendums here.
Last night, a spokesman for the commission declined to comment on the Amnesty case, but said SIPOs role was to enforce the legislation. Under the legislation, a sentence of up to three years can be imposed.
Dangerous precedent
Saying that it is taking legal advice on its options now, Amnesty said the Soros grant accounts for nearly 2.5 per cent of its total annual income, but returning it would set a dangerous precedent.
Amnesty and other civil society organisations have previously flagged concerns about the strict campaign finance laws which employ a wide definition of political activity that cannot be funded by foreign donations.
Mr OGorman pointed out that Irish Aid, the Governments development aid arm, regularly funds campaigns run by civil society organisations in many countries around the world.
The electoral law contravenes Irelands obligations under international human rights law and constitutes a violation of rights to freedom of association and expression, said Amnesty.
The Electoral Acts rules are seriously impacting on a growing number of other organisations, and could have a severe chilling effect on civil society in Ireland, it said.
Just hope they’re driving through the streets of Mexico and all points to the south, letting the people there they might get killed if they try to come to America.
