Area 51 has long been an admitted weapons development site in Nevada. But for those of you who are looking for UFO’s, you won’t find them there. That’s not what they do.
The development of aircraft has been accomplished there but the actual experimentation flights were sortied at Groom Lake. The most famous were the U-2, designed by Lockheed’s “Skunk Works” head Kelly Johnson. And then the Archangel, later called the SR-71. The newest known is the Aurora but a practical use hasn’t been admitted yet. The original unit was the 1129 SAS later to be determined the 9th SRW. Main site at Beale AFB in California and the support of the 9th PSD. That’s where a majority of the NASA space suits are located as they are used by pilots in the U-2, the TR, and the SR. The SR program was shut down by Clinton in 1997 with six left on the inventory. It is still a requested craft for air shows at military reservations. It has been replaced by the RQ-4 Global Hawk which is predominately slower but better equipped for surveillance.
This is common knowledge. But since “bright star,” the government has allowed the mystique to remain. It takes the minds off what is really going on there. At the moment a large group of people are trying to figure out a way to “storm” the facility. Good luck on that one.
