‘Heads must roll’: Outrage at how high-security jail could let Jeffrey Epstein die

Millionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died in an apparent suicide while in federal custody in Manhattan early Saturday, a stunning end that both infuriated and baffled his victims, and the federal officials responsible for his safety.

“I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody,” Barr said in a statement.

“Mr. Epstein’s death raises serious questions that must be answered. In addition to the FBI’s investigation, I have consulted with the inspector general, who is opening an investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Epstein’s death,” Barr said.

Epstein had inexplicably been taken off suicide watch despite an incident three weeks ago when he was found sprawled on the floor of his cell, nearly unconscious, and with injuries to his neck.

He was being housed in the jail’s high-security Special Housing Unit, in which high-profile or dangerous detainees are kept separate from the general population.

Until recently, the jail had housed Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán, who is now at a supermax prison in Colorado.

At MCC, prisoners on suicide watch get checked every 15 minutes.

“Heads must roll,” Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote to Barr in a scathing letter Saturday.

“Every single person in the Justice Department — from your Main Justice headquarters staff all the way to the night-shift jailer — knew that this man was a suicide risk, and that his dark secrets couldn’t be allowed to die with him,” Sasse wrote.

There’s no question Epstein should have been under continual watch, said Cameron Lindsay, a former warden who ran three federal jails and who called the death a “shocking failure.”

“Unequivocally, he should have been on active suicide watch and therefore under direct and constant supervision,” Lindsay said.

“It’s embarrassing,” one federal law-enforcement source told The Post of Epstein.

“This is the highest-profile inmate in that facility, and considering that he may have attempted suicide two weeks ago — how could they let this happen?”

C) Who claimed the body?

D) Who did Epstein will Pedophile Island to?

Uh...in fact the wind speed was maybe 10 knots. It probably doesn’t matter that the Airport Manager “killed himself”.

The x-rays showing the weird lead presence in Ron Brown’s skull —lost.

“But that x-ray machine was defective”.

Kay, WHERE is it..?

Oh, that’s lost also.

Jeez, an x-ray machine, that’s hard to lose. It’s LOST?

Yes.

The corruption goes all the way to the top. If Epstein was murdered whoever carried it out is already dead.

Why didn't they cordon off the room and bring in some independent investigators?

The investigation is over and there will be no trial where the evidence gathered is made public. It’s not about silencing Epstein, it’s about silencing everyone else.

> he couldn’t be compelled to testify to anything self-incriminating as a matter of U.S. law <

That’s true. But Epstein was facing decades behind bars, a life sentence for a man his age. But I can see where the DA would offer him a greatly reduced sentence, in return for his full cooperation.

Would Epstein have taken the deal, or would he have risked a trial? Someone powerful made sure Epstein never got the chance to make a choice.

And yes, I can’t believe it was a suicide. A man who attempted suicide only a short time before would never be allowed to have anything in his cell that could be fashioned into a rope.

The East River may rise from the number of bodies it is about to receive.

He was allowed to die.

Someone arranged for him to have the means to do it. Or helped him.

Ron Brown was when I realized the Clintons would kill anyone. He gave a speech at the Rat convention nominating Clinton when he ran against Bush, saying “Read my lips. No second term.” He was also considered a rising star in Rat circles, and boom, dead. Supporter, security, lover, candidate, doesn’t matter. The Clintons will kill you.

Exactly right. Not one of them will be held accountable for anything.

Barr’s report will focus on “systemic” failures rather than on exposing the individuals behind the anti-Trump plot. All criticism will be addressed in terms of managing the investigative process instead of obvious abuses of power and criminal acts.

He’ll cite how there was a “breakdown” in normal controls and recommend improvements to “strengthen accountability within the decision making apparatus in the agency”. Or some such BS.

Here’s the “best practices” formula for dealing with scandals: When there’s a problem in government start a long investigation to make people forget what happened and then lay the blame on failure to follow procedures and processes.

Another scandal successfully defused.

My question is with the “first attempt”. If he tried to hang himself wouldn’t there be evidence in the form of some type of noose? If he was found on the floor with only marks on his neck how did he try and hang himself. The same goes for this supposed suicide. The method of suicide must be apparent.

Exactly. Suicide by what? The first attempt left fingerprints on his neck. For real? He tried to choke himself to death? What evidence did they find this time? Not that we’ll ever get an answer to that. Or that anyone on our side of the Media will have the brains to ask.

.………..my theory is the Mob did it and they did it for “the Clintons”and for “the Mob”. “HOW” they did it could have been something like “we’ve got your brother” and he’s toast unless you go under by tomorrow”. The Mob then ordered the jailer to discontinue the suicide watch.

Whatever! Few will EVER believe he did himself in or if he did it was with extreme coercion.

Yet there are probably still people who would deny that our government is corrupt.

> My question is with the “first attempt”. <.

You raise a very important point. What was used as a rope? A bedsheet? An article of clothing? Whatever it was, all possible “ropes” should been removed from his cell. Make him wear paper clothing, and use paper bedsheets (such things exist). Did they do that?

We’ll probably never know.
