Several years ago, a very good friend of mine was a state senator. He would not go to any social function without bringing his wife. He would not accept any food or drink...he brought along his own bottled water. Setting up our politicians for blackmail/control has been going on for years. And not only in this country.

The stakes are high in politics and those in certain political and business circles are very determined to get what they want. Just a few votes can swing things toward the desired outcomes in terms of money and political power. Just saying...and agreeing with you.
Been saying it for years. I am sure that when a new Senator or Congressman arrives in DC that they are set upon to be bribed, threatened, blackmailed or some combination of the three. Trust me, I know, I am part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.
