A shortage of a versatile medicine used to treat immune disorders and other diseases has forced U.S. hospitals and infusion clinics to suspend treatment for many patients.
The medicine, immune globulin, contains antibodies harvested from plasma, a component of blood. The injected product helps people with compromised immune systems fight off infections, and treats certain muscle and nerve disorders. The drug’s shortage increases the risk of infection for patients and the amount of pain they are suffering, doctors say.

I was in the hospital for eleven days last April. The computer the nurses used had a screen discussing the drug shortages because so many are made in Puerto Rico and the manufacturing facilities were destroyed.
Meds that we used to always obtain from local pharmacies are with some frequency now on back order or not obtainable. Walgreens & CVS.
Something is broken & it’s getting worse.
There’s a six month waiting list for the shingles vaccine.
BTW: The relatively new shingles vaccine, Shingrix, has been in short supply since it was introduced several years ago. (Phoenix Area)
At the time we got our first shot they had less than five doses left. Our pharmacy put us at the front of the list for our second shot, once we got the first one. That made it a lot easier for us and made it less likely that the first dose would be wasted.
Time to modify the laws and make CEOs and CIOs and CFOs personally liable for failure.
Piling up wealth beyond the dreams of robber barons, should not be allowed without commensurate responsibility.
For most of them, getting off of carbs will do them at least as much good, if not more good.
...of course that assumes doctors are willing to advise that - something which I doubt, at least for the next 5 years or so.
Just did a search for the Austin, TX area and nearly every year there’s a report on drug shortages. The big question is why there’s a constant, ongoing and seemingly never corrected problem.
The price just isnt high enough yet.
This is the best health system in the world that money can buy. Instead of 20% of gdp they are going for all of it. Capitalism at its finest.

Being committed to the natural lifestyle, I don’t take drugs-but even to me this sounds like a manufactured mess-literally-could it be that the pharma companies that manufacture the IG and other much-needed drugs are showing their displeasure because the pres called them out on their high prices-if so, that is disgusting...

this is probably NOT a good drug to use as an exemplar of “there’s a drug shortage”, because it’s made from human blood donated (or sold) by volunteers, and apparently its use has newly expanded to treat conditions not previously treated with it, while the blood supply has not expanded at the same pace ...
At the beginning it was the puerto rico storm. This is too long, something is up. We are being held hostage. These are simple drugs.
Take L-Lycine to help keep Shingles from being bad even if you get them. I had shingles( no big deal). Also if you have breakout sores put Blis-Tex on them. quick cure.
There is also a shortage of tacrolimus due to the inability to gather one of the active ingredients. I had a kidney transplant and am reliant on this medication. I have maybe two months of medication left.
Yes. Because ceasing carbs will treat acute organ rejection, which is something that IVIG is used to treat.
It also won’t help my immune disorder, which is related to a missing protein in my DNA. It’s an asinine suggestion.
