It is private property, and they set the rules.

They did not identify themselves as a gun-free store. If they had then the CCW person who drew down on Andreychenco would have been just as guilty of breaking the law.

If hello how are you doing from the police is too much contact...well some of the later responses in the thread are pretty clear.

You're not talking about "Hello, how are you." You're talking about the police stopping someone who was not violating the law and interrogating them as to their intent, which is what you wanted. This is not supposed to be a police state. Not yet anyway.

Sadly cops stop thousands of people every day in this country and conduct investigations - often without PC. The relatively new aspect of you must identify yourself is making it easier and easier. “You weren't wearing your seat belt” now being a reason for a primary stop.
