The DOJ is inspecting itself in the case of the IG report on FISA abuse in the Russia hoax and the Durham Report. They are using in-house people who rotate to and from the IG and other offices within DOJ and the FBI.
Protection of the institution is inherent in any of these investigations. Truth becomes the first casualty.
