I agree with all of that as do many of the rest of us. I still feel badly for the people of Hong Kong who unlike a lot of the trash we’ve taken in are good productive people who value their freedom. If we’re to take anybody in, these should be the kind of people we want - not more Tlaibs or Omars.

These are people whose asylum claims should be granted, not uneducated Central American villagers coming to the US solely for economic reasons.

We need to stop supporting China through trade. The Clinton’s are responsible for the power China has today through the Executive Order 12850, May 28, 1993.

Did you know Hillary was a director on the Wal-Mart board between 1986 to 1991.

Oh, I’m not disagreeing that we should be strongly considering asylum applications for people in Hong Kong. My comments are specifically aimed at the protestors. We all know what’s likely going to happen and while I agree with their beliefs, I am also not willing to see more of my friends go over in some misguided effort to ‘protect’ the protestors - and come back in boxes.

And I say that as someone who has family still in HK.

At church I heard that the untold story here is that Hong Kong has a very large Christian presence and they evangelize atheist China.

I agree.

Americans went to Spain to fight Franco on their own accord.

Any of our keyboard warriors are free to book passage to HK at any time to go down in a blaze of their own egos just like some of them did.

[How about we swap those people who love America and freedom for the people who want to impose communism here?]

We can export all the Hollywood celebrities and Leftists who were going to leave when Donald Trump became President!

Sounds like a win-win to me!!

If I was leading the protesters I would tell them to have everyone pick up and leave Hong Kong. The Chinese can arrive to empty buildings and empty streets with all business relocated to other countries.

There is definitely an interest in the Bible and Bible Prophecy in Hong Kong.

Long ago there was a Christian guy (Chinese) who was trying to evangelize Hong Kong. I do hope the Lord blessed his efforts and him too. I’m sure He did.

My wife’s family is from Hong Kong.. They migrated to the US back in the 60s and built some very successful business in my home town. Not dependent on welfare, earn their way.

Her family is very concern about Hong Kong.

They can fly the American flag in communist China but over here, in some parts of the country its divisive and hateful. Maybe the HK protestors should try the Betsy Ross flag

Christianity has been in Hong Kong since 1841.[1] As of 2014, there were about 870,000 Christians in Hong Kong (11.8% of the total population), most of them are Protestant (around 480,000) and Catholic (around 390,000) Wikip

[Her family is very concerned about Hong Kong.]

Yeah, looks like there is good reason for that.

[11.8% of the total population]

Sounds about right. A little higher than I imagined but great.

Civil disobedience, of course. Didn’t work great at Tienanmen Square II back in ‘89 (the first Tienanmen Square massacre occurred in 1919). But it worked for Gandhi and MLK. It might work this time, because the PRC dearly wants Hong Kong’s economic dynamism, and wants to showcase it to the world to show how nice they can pretend to be.

Everyone would be wonderfully happy. China has more Communists, America has more freedom loving people.

PDJT make this a condition of negotiations.
