Construction for the U.S.- Mexico border wall in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge will be delayed until October after a legal challenge with conservation groups.
According to court documents (from the "environmental" groups), construction was set to begin on Aug. 22 but has been pushed back 45 days.

According to the department's filing however, work in these areas will be split into three parts. The government will replace two miles of wall in Organ Pipe starting Aug. 19 and the rest of the construction is to start in October.
Work starts where it was scheduled to, in just a few days. The other, and much larger segments, will start in October (after the monsoon rains), just as they were scheduled to.
The bogus lawsuit is on the same basis that has already failed in Federal Court in California - that DHs can't waive the requirements of certain environmental laws to build border barrier.
The Real ID Act of 2005 explicitly listed the laws that are being waived, and explicitly granted the Secretary of DHS the power to waive them to, to build border barrier.
They don't have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding on the merits. The most they can hope for is another hack Leftist District Judge to sacrifice his/her/its credibility with a restraining injunction for a few months.
No bias in that headline.
You’d think these watermelons would want to protect our beautiful inheritance from the hordes of interlopers.
I wish the court would place in jail attorneys making filings on issues already settled. Its essentially contempt of court.
But I think we are winning. Moving ahead. I know Ann Coulter is not a fav here (nor of mine anymore) but she recently praised Kobach's portion of the Wall. The Gov. had said impossible to build it there. It was done in no time by private enterprise. Things are moving. Slowly, but moving.

Those laws can only be waived for wind farms.
“Those laws can only be waived for wind farms.”
Surely we can waive them for illegal immigrants too - we seemed to waived all the others already.
True enough
