The Charlottesville Hoax That Would Not Die ^ | August 16, 2019 | Steven Cortes

Posted on 08/16/2019 2:19:03 AM PDT by Kaslin

Instead of helping President Trump unify the nation after the recent mass shootings, Democrats are once again peddling the Charlottesville hoax to further inflame America’s divisions.

For two years now, liberals have been brazenly lying about the remarks President Trump made in response to the 2017 Charlottesville tragedy, touting their fabrication as the most convincing evidence available that the president is actually the “white nationalist” they’ve always claimed. Following the twin shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio — which they blame on Donald Trump — Democrats and the mainstream media have predictably trotted out the Charlottesville canard once again.

As I explain in my new PragerU video, the president emphatically did not praise the white supremacists who showed up at the Charlottesville protests. Rather, he praised the “very fine people on both sides” of the lawful demonstrations over the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue, by which he was very clearly drawing a distinction between the peaceful protesters on both sides of that debate and the violent thugs, also representing both sides, who turned a demonstration of free speech into a bloodbath.

In fact, President Trump explicitly denounced the very people that liberals accuse him of praising, clarifying that “I’m not talking about the Neo-Nazis and the White Nationalists. They should be condemned totally.” Note that President Trump uttered those words immediately after referencing “very fine people.” The media insidiously limited the quote to portray Donald Trump as a monster.

Honest, accurate reporting would have made this perfectly clear from the outset. But we don’t have an honest press; we have an opposition press.

Instead of reporting what the President said in its proper context, mainstream media outlets distorted his remarks to make it appear as though he had expressed support for white supremacists. Liberal pundits and Democrat politicians then fiercely denounced Trump as a racist, further fueling the media firestorm and drowning out all efforts to correct the public record.

We’ve been experiencing the fallout from that outrageous deceit ever since, with “Charlottesville” serving as the go-to fallback every time the left has struggled to substantiate its latest claim about Donald Trump’s supposed racism.

Naturally, liberal journalists and Democrat presidential candidates returned to the Charlottesville narrative to bolster yet another round of slanderous attacks on President Trump in response to the tragic shootings this week. Seizing in particular on the anti-Hispanic sentiments expressed by the El Paso shooter, the left is hoping to convince the public that the president’s rhetoric was in some way responsible for the massacre, even though the shooter himself explicitly denied that he was motivated by Trump.

Joe Biden, who launched his presidential campaign with a video based on the Charlottesville deception, brought up the president’s Charlottesville comments again in his remarks following the recent shootings, citing them as evidence that we are in a “battle for the soul of the nation.”

In other words, Biden shamelessly sought to exploit the suffering in El Paso and Dayton for political gain, using it as an opportunity to slander the president with a half-regurgitated lie.

Unfortunately, Biden wasn’t alone. Senator Elizabeth Warren did the same thing. In a recent New York Times interview, Warren called President Trump a white supremacist, justifying that ridiculous assertion by falsely claiming that “He has talked about white supremacists as fine people.”

Democrats keep returning to the Charlottesville hoax because it’s the only piece of so-called evidence they have that President Trump is a racist — and because the compliant mainstream media allow them to get away with their blatant mischaracterization.

It’s important that we tell the truth about the President’s Charlottesville remarks, as well as his remarkable record of delivering incredible results for all Americans, including minorities everywhere.

Whenever President Trump tries to heal the country and ease tensions, as he’s been doing in the wake of the Dayton and El Paso shootings, Democrats use Charlottesville to sow discord and undermine his efforts. The country simply can’t afford to keep tolerating that destabilizing deception.

To debunk the “fine people” in Charlottesville hoax, I put together the following resources in this thread for you to retweet as needed.

The Left loves a Big Lie.

Forget a specific political party and just consider intelligence, logic, the ability to think, and simple human decency when you contemplate how this President has been treated. Anyone with those qualities surely would be appalled at the distortion of common decency and morality as he/she looks at how what the President said about Charlottesville was twisted and distorted in a ghoulish way to present a lie to the public. He, like the majority of his accusers, has done plenty to be accurately criticized for, but not from that Charlotte statement. The brutality thrown at this President by those who lust for the power over this country and it’s resources surely must be unprecedented in our history. One has to look a the fallen nature of mankind and contemplate what true wisdom is to understand such a departure from the things all of us need to know about the relationship of truth to our existence. Not one person who lives is perfect or even near to perfect. Good and evil are real, and some individuals truly are evil in a spiritual sense. President Trump needs to go to Psalms in the Bible and read the words of King David, who had many enemies, and, like our President. had sinned in his personal life. However, he was God’s man for his time, though that did not relieve the angst he felt from the hatred of his enemies. “My enemies say of me in malice, ‘When will he die..when will his name perish?’ Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander and then he goes out and spreads it abroad. All my enemies whisper together against me, they imagine the worst for me, saying, ‘A vile disease has beset him; he will never get up from the place where he lies.” Psalm 41:4-7 The Psalms showed that a very imperfect King David was God’s man for his time. I believe that too many of us, in this time, are so damaged by prosperity and the false communication of what we are to hope and strive for during our brief time upon this earth, that we have corrupted, through the very development of technology and mass communication, falsehoods, in every respect, that could end life as we know it on our planet. It is not climate change which will do us in. It is our spiritual deafness which will destroy us. President Trump will be fine, win or lose. He has already survived relentless attacks which would have destroyed most other people. I believe that only spiritual strength and love for his countrymen & women could have provided him with that strength. Enemies, like the President’s, who are willing to play as dirty as they have to, in their desperate grasp for power, will face consequences at some point. I have no idea what those might be, but I believe such things were set into place upon creation of this world and will not be denied. I do not practice the same kind of religion that Marianne Williamson does but the tenets and values of mine and hers are very much the same. Those who practice situation ethics should consider what she is saying. Good and evil will never depart from us in this world, but wise, tolerant people, willing to risk speaking the truth and willing to confront evil, even when threatened by powerful forces, could possibly save us from our darker tendencies which will prove, in the end, to be our real enemy.

Charlottesville just had a disagreement between left wing groups. There was no right wing group there.

It is the main part of why Americans don’t trust the media. When I show reality to people who use that as an example of our president being a racist they end up dumbstruck.

During the Charlottesville event I was listening to a radio broadcast with an on-scene reporter who did a good job describing what he was and the lead-up. He is what I know from the on the scene report:

1. The city granted a permit for a gathering at the confederate statue in a park. Because of the threat to the confederate statue, people who supported keeping the statue as it was, began to gather. There was one or some who identified as “white supremacist.” Others were just people who didn’t want anything to happen to the statue, probably some towns people and university students - just everyday folks. None of these people were armed or wore protective gear.

2. The”Antifa” troops arrive, armed with clubs, with protective clothing, and they are on the street. And this group starts to cause a ruckus.

3. Then the police rescind the park permit and order the group in the park to leave. The police were forcing them to leave the park. There is no way out except on the street where Antifa is waiting for them.

4. The group who had been at the statue were unprepared for the violence and took a beating.

5. The group who had been at the statue stand accused of causing the riot.

That is how I understood the on-the-scene radio report.

right - and the Charlottesville mayor forced the fight by rescinding the park permit and having the police herd the statue supporters down to the street into the arms of those masked Antifa.

And that same night watching Channel 13 (ABCTV) they showed scenes of the guy who ran down pedestrians, killing one. They didn’t identify the driver, but it looked like the street crowds had surrounded the suspect car and the driver spooked, drove away as escaping harm and ran into the crowd down the street. It didn’t look like a deliberate attempt to kill but a result of fear.
