Any list that starts with “Re-introduce the 10 Commandments in School” is DOA. The only feasible things on the list are 5.) Expose Juvenile Offenders and 6.) Be armed.

The single most important measure to be taken would be the closure of public schools and the elimination of all compulsory education laws.

I agree, but doubt it will ever be regarded as feasible. The options aren't there for too many people. Cheap private or parochial schools? They're not waiting to catch all the children unloosed from public schools. Many would never be accepted by any institution. It could be done gradually but it would need organization, vision, and determination by a large percentage of the people.

One alternative I've often thought about is outsourced homeschooling. The state laws generally require homeschooling (schooling by uncertified teachers) to be delivered by parents in the home -- with some latitude in some states. But if education, particularly in the lower grades, could be delivered via the free market, by competent private tutors, that might offer positive results. No maybe about it, actually, when in a certain metropolis we hear that zero public school children are where they should be in math and reading.

After all, baby sitters, even 8-hr daily sitters, aren't board certified and their wages aren't government set. Get some accrediting body (not necessarily governmental) to oversee and advise, with regard to the tutor's ability and the results.

Alternatives on a massive scale would need to be in place before ditching public ed, even gradually. As bad as it is, even intelligent people foolishly send their kids to the free indoctrination centers...and then compound the folly by paying through the nose for an additional four years.

The biggest problem/change has been the elimination of the Judeo/Christian system of values and ethics since the 1960s.

The US is reaping what it has sown these past 50 years.

“One thing that I think would help both schools and society as a whole would be to stop tolerating this harassment by the left.”

I guess it’s a chicken-or-egg situation. If God were to be allowed back in America, people’s hearts would change and there would be less (or zero) harassment by the left.

When half of the country boos God and removes Him from their party’s platform, hearts become evil. When Satan’s agents see that prayer is removed from the children’s schools, hearts become evil.

The culture's breaking down - pushed by a twisted devotion to diversity’ for it's own sake.

Assimilation isn't happening - tribalism and toxic reactions to tribalism are are blooming like beds of stink weed.

Liberal Elites destroyed black culture in the 60's and replaced it with the inner city horror we have today - now they're attempting to do the same to the rest of the country. Absent fathers, culture alienation, non-stop pity parties, mindless violence - all fallout from liberal insanity.

Successful relationships between men and women is not a solution, it is more like the canary in a coal mine. When the canary dies, everyone else won’t be far behind.

And while I DO blame the educational system for a lot of this situation, I don’t think we can forget the media, liberal courts, and agenda driven Governmental idiots.

Fixing the school system is a good start, but I am afraid more is required.

Stop publicizing and glorifying the shooters in mass media. They are all united by one common thread: they are LOSERS who think that if they kill enough people, they will become famous and they view that as achieving something. If we stop making them famous for killing people, then maybe these losers will try to find another way to justify their existence, or just kill themselves without trying to take a bunch of people with them.

I entirely agree with you. The whole problem stems from the abandonment of God and the Christian (and Jewish) Faith. Even early American Deists, such as Jefferson, started from Judeo-Christian natural law as the basis for American society. However, that’s all gone now, replaced by positive law (meaning man-made, and whatever the State says, goes).

In my opinion the thing standing between Americans and a return to faith is the left wing politicization of the mainstream Protestant churches and the Catholic Church. But I think all Americans know what is missing in our national life.

Now there is an idea! There are lots of people that would like a goal to set for themselves. Acquiring certification to teach in their homes or someone else’s home. If a student is not able to learn (for whatever reason) from the school that he could attend, let them learn under the guidance at home. As long as some progress can be established, the guidance could continue.

Shouldn't be difficult to make more progress than some public schools I can think of!

A common sense approach that would make all Americans safer.

But that’s not really what liberal politicians want, is it?

“Common sense” - as “liberals” use the term - means nothing other than what cabal journalists think.

I believe she was largely there for the money, so to speak. I also have a lot concerns about what his actual involvement was. That one had a ton of questions and then just went dead quiet. Very strange.
