Yep, at Sam’s Club the candy is on display but it’ll only have a short window to make room for Christmas, and they mailed me a flyer about a costume sale.
If I have to buy Halloween candy now for our church Trunk or Treat, that means I have to keep it 2 months without eating it! :o

Various stores here in IL (like WalMart) have CHRISTMAS stuff out already. It’s August!

As a practical minimalist I absolutely agree.

The makings for Christmas decorations are already out at various chain arts & craft stores. Making them takes time, you know....especially if the crafty ones are hoping to sell their creations closer to the real decorating season.

Sheeeeyit. We have a store in town called The Halloween Store that’s open all year. Never been it but I’m assuming it’s all demonic stuff.

Follow the money. I noticed several retailers close to me - Walmart, Kroger, Dollar General - tagging items for summer clearance and sneaking out fall harvest/Halloween merchandise in little nooks in their stores. By Sept. 1, it’ll be full-on holiday bedlam here. Walmart will have Christmas tree displays up right next to the outdoor grilling supplies for a month. New Year’s is a one week blip on the radar before Valentine’s Day schlock is rolled out through half the store. I’m simply not interested in looking at cute little Pilgrim and Indian stuffed burlap shelf elves when my pool pump is going 24/7 because the heat index is 105 outside.

Cracker Barrel is putting up their Christmas displays. To their credit they do have a small Thanksgiving / Fall set as well.
