HALLMARK CHANNEL airs Christmas movies on all year long. I should say holiday movies, since 98% of them glorify Santa with the exception of a few carols.
Various stores here in IL (like WalMart) have CHRISTMAS stuff out already. It’s August!
Materialism
Free market capitalism. Get over it.
Once again, dummies are lead by the nose, by Social Media...
Sheeeeyit. We have a store in town called The Halloween Store that’s open all year. Never been it but I’m assuming it’s all demonic stuff.
Follow the money. I noticed several retailers close to me - Walmart, Kroger, Dollar General - tagging items for summer clearance and sneaking out fall harvest/Halloween merchandise in little nooks in their stores. By Sept. 1, it’ll be full-on holiday bedlam here. Walmart will have Christmas tree displays up right next to the outdoor grilling supplies for a month. New Year’s is a one week blip on the radar before Valentine’s Day schlock is rolled out through half the store. I’m simply not interested in looking at cute little Pilgrim and Indian stuffed burlap shelf elves when my pool pump is going 24/7 because the heat index is 105 outside.
Cracker Barrel is putting up their Christmas displays. To their credit they do have a small Thanksgiving / Fall set as well.
Because America is consecrated to Satan?
Desperately trying to move product, and lots of it....
I suspect a lot of retailers (and, by extension, producers) are hurting much worse than they’re letting on, and are trying to pull in as much cash as they can by snookering the Great Unwashed into buying as much as possible, and fast.
The stores have to plan several months ahead. The merch is coming in and they have to put it somewhere, preferably where customers can buy it. It’s just business, not satanic forces.
Since stores NEED to prepare months in advance for any holiday, they figure they might as well make it public, since they are incapable of multi-tasking thought anymore.
