I remember (from studying it, of course) how the United States was convinced that it was INVINCIBLE just prior to WW2. And most of the country was asleep, thinking that somehow the ever-spreading war would skip over America, so we could sit here in our stupor and it would ‘all go away’.
And then Pearl Harbor.
One of the less talked about aspects of that day is how the Leftists then (the people supporting Hitler and/or Stalin and DEMANDING that we stay out of the war) were QUICKLY DISPATCHED once we were under attack - they knew there was no room for their crap now that we were drawn in.
I see a similar attitude these days. The Leftists and Globalists think we’re INVINCIBLE (something that Rush also mentioned this week), and therefore there’s no need for us to seriously make an effort to understand just what is out there that threatens us.
So perhaps a few mushrooms in Asia will drive the US, and the rest of the West to understand that that these aren’t toys, and HOPEFULLY we will all send the Leftists to the same place we did when WW2 started.
If any nuke country starts losing a war get your iodine ready.

Not really - it’s different now. There will be a huge swarm of media and others to the hit areas. And, HOPEFULLY, our thinking will be that it takes a bit more than simply IGNORING what China, Russia, Iran, and the Norks are doing if we don’t want to soon be on the receiving end of some of their weapons.

I remember back in 1998, when I first visited India, India had just conducted a major nuclear test.
As I walked about I remember thinking “ These people have nuclear weapons!?”
They had figured out the use of outhouses, preferring the sides of roads and railroad tracks, many lived in mud and grass huts, they used cowpies for firewood, and the city slums were unbelievable filthy places.
An ancient 3rd world land which never caught up to modernity. Except for having nukes...

It worked. The USSR never had enough missiles, or a chance to use them, and went broke trying to keep up.
