I think overall the numbers will be close but take out ny and calif. which we won’t win anyway and I wonder just how close the rest are.

I did not know he had a history of said abuse.

But you’re not imagining things, he had a bit of a slur.

Hope all is okay. All he kept saying over and over is “OPTIMISM IS OKAY!”

Heh.

It might be his psych meds.

Project much?

Without a link/proof, this kind of accusatory talk is no better than what the libs do.

“Project much?”

No projection. I don’t and never have used psych meds, but I know people that have.

You’re right though, I shouldn’t have said that. Just curious...what do you think explains his slurring? Has he relapsed?

“And whether Trump can gather a bigger share of the minority vote.”

Word has it he already has 50% of the Hispanic vote and according to Rasmussen he has 36% of the Black vote.

Normally Republicans garner about 28-30% of the Hispanic vote and around 8% of the Black vote.
We’ll just have to wait and see.

"Right now, as the stock market falls like it does when someone breathes too heavily, as I understand Trump is putting off the charging of tariffs to China for six months.

Scuttlebutt has it that Trump is doing this to avoid problems in the 2020 election."

Trump is exactly right on tariffs. This is not hard to understand. There's no scuttlebutt.

If Trump laid the last set of tariffs, Christmas buying power is reduced 20-25% BUT as his advisors pleaded, Americans buy anyway because we spoil our kids.

So whether it's Elmo or XBox, those last round of tariffs would have been demonstrably a working-class/middle-class pocketbook bite.

Picture a 3-page NYT spread showing before/after 'tariff pricing' for Christmas giftery right before Black Friday in an obvious attempt to ruin 4Q. [The irony of (NYT) posting a story about Christmas gift prices is only double-downed by (who) actually jobs/middlemans/distributes much of the Chinese junk, er, Christmas gifts) and thus who might just be hurt the worst had those those tariffs been implemented ho ho f*^&!#@ ho...]

The later timing makes no difference, tariffs are a long-horizon game meant to produce short-term capitulations. The amount of hurt to China is the same on a 4-year horizon ie, a hard-bargaining Trump with an eye on bringing China to heel shortly after re-election, looking for something to hand Pence as a winning issue in 2024, any Christmas tariffs yes/no in 2019 will be long-forgotten by then.

Actually, there is scuttlebutt. It’s wrong, but there is. Rush spent considerable time on it this week.

This is the way I see it:

(But first, let me just say I am not a BU Economics graduate like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez... So... anyway...)

Getting China—or any country—to play fair when trading with our country is an eminently reasonable thing for an American president to do. To continue bending over and taking it in the behind isn’t.

That’s it.

People might not like having to suffer some in order to standup to them, but it’s gotta be done.

We can’t keep kicking this can down the road. Grownups have to act.

Anyone not a moron, or an BU Economics graduate, can see this.

Toss in NJ, Illinois, MA, VA, CT, WA, OR, VT, RI, NV, and Delaware as sure, easy locks for the Dems. FL, MI, PA, MN, WI, and NC will definitely be close. GA may be close as well.

First let me insert then I’m watching President Trump old TV now doing a press conference like he does before he gets on a plane. Man he was really knocking Fox He complained about Juan Williams he said somethings wrong with fox I’m always down in their polls, it was great.

Well of course you’re right, AB. One thing that I learned, and I consider myself a political junkie of sorts, is I didn’t know that Europe was cheating on us all in NATO. Then there was that deal with Iran. Now we’re learning about the green cards how they were abused. We learned how terrible the immigrant problem is.

We need the adults to be in charge for a while.

If Trump even approaches those numbers for minorities, it would be a landslide. I would be pleasantly shocked if that occurred. It would mark a tipping point in US politics. The Dems would have to go back to the drawing boards.

This is what I found.

“McLaughlin & Associates revealed that Hispanic approval for Trump in March (2019) jumped to 50%. This number matched the January Marist/NPR/PBS survey that shocked cynics with its own 50% approval finding. Even if those polls are too aggressive, February’s Morning Consult/Politico poll showed Trump’s Hispanic approval vaulting to a still-impressive 45%.”

Piece is from April but I see nothing which has happened that will change those numbers in any measurable way.

Also from the piece.

“Leftist politicians and their media allies wrongly assume that Hispanics espouse softness on immigration illegality. In reality, a 2018 YouGov/Economist poll detailed that only 20% of Hispanics support the practice of “catch and release” of families crossing our border illegally.”

All this talk about Kudlow “slurring” could simply be his age. He’ll be 72 in 2 days. Also aging and being on certain medicines gives us “dry mouth” which can affect speech clarity. Give him a break. Listen to Biden

"Actually, there is scuttlebutt. It’s wrong, but there is. Rush spent considerable time on it this week."

Like I didn't hear Texas Truck Driver on Rush "this week" hold forth on "Trump blinked" vs. China.

That is exactly when Rush invites people on to do his work without having to say it himself. Every non-Friday caller is there solely to advance Rush's dialectic.

Do you understand that's how it works? When Rush wants to make fun of something -- like the #MSM weak shit/trial balloon #2020Narrative venture about "Market crash = Trump blinked" -- he invites someone marginally informed on global economics precisely to tear down the "Trump blinked" assertion.

Geebus he had the hook set in Truckie until Truckie said it "doesn't affect my Trump support in 2020". Then Rush cut him off, as Truckie upended Rush's opportunity to pursue his dialectic to the end and school Truckie. Instead he wrapped the ready lecture into 8 seconds and out into commercial. Show over.

Now you know why the dems and media are pushing the white nationalist/supremacist/racist angle so hard.

Their very opposition and biggest complaining points to what they fear most:

Minorities leaving the plantation/reservations.

There's gonna be a ton of fear-mongering and slander over the next 15 months or so.

Every time a Republican wins, another black church burns.

Senor Y Senoritas, Trump will put your ninos Y ninas in a cage!!!

So what will be the cause of this 50% sell off? Surely you are not buying into the silliness of the inverted (for all of about 4 hrs) bond yield, are you?

I do not know what will be the "Cause" of the drop - Usually it is something unexpected.

Also there are Cycles - 2000, 2007 and there is a reversion to mean (200 day average)

Large amount of Debt (Corporate and other). Take a look at GE and pay attention to Car Sales and Oil

I disagree. No, I’m not dumber than you, either.

I think he has those calls on in order to shoot the idea down.

I saw it totally different than you did.

Rush went on for some time about the entire set of dynamics involved. He also pointed out to the Trucker that Trump has to get elected, too, and defend himself in a world where the media can’t stand his guts, and will do whatever it takes to defeat him.

Rush is one of the all too very few MEGA voices that gets our side’s viewpoint out there. He truly speaks truth to power—Leftist power that is all of media. 20 million daily listeners. Are you jealous? At least he’s taking it to the Left 3 hours a day Mon-Fri.

I give him a lot of respect and yes, sometimes slack.

I hate Bollen Branch, Lifelock, Apple Watches and cigars.

But I’m still a listener.

Okay, I'm sorry I might have missed this.

Yes, I agree. That's just what he did.

But beyond this, I get very frustrated with the "one issue and I'm done with you!" crowd that infests this site.

Goodness sakes, does anyone think some democrat will uphold gun freedom, stopping illegals and promoting the safety and economic success of the country better than Donald J. Trump???

Do they really think the electoral failure of Trump and his agenda will suddenly cause people to come around to it?

If so, they're morons!

I don't want Trump defeated, I want him fully UNLEASHED, UNFETTERED and UNTAMED!

Rush gets this word out better than anyone except for Donald himself.
