I can’t figure out why some on the right are so enraptured with the Hare Krishna candidate. The Democrats certainly don’t like her. As a traditional national security conservative, I see Gabbard as the worst of both worlds - weak on national security and a far leftist on economic issues.

She’s prettier than Joe Biden.

She’s the best candidate they have.

I wouldn’t vote for her, because her politics are garbage, and she’s dishonest, but she quick on her feet, and she’s hot.

I hope she wrecks their whole field.

I am by no means enraptured by Tulsi Gabbard. She can however be an opponent who would be underestimated at one’s peril - as much as the rest of the Democrat field is finding out now.

Tulsi was born into a quasi Hindu cult with political ambitions.

As a traditional national security conservative”

Tulsi echoes Trump on foreign policy: No more useless, costly regime-change wars. The Democrats don’t like that message. Neither do the establishment Bushian Republicans.

BTW, attacking other countries to bring about regime change is not “traditional national security conservatism” It’s Troskyite world revolutionism. No wonder a lot of the neocons who push that line of foreign policy have a lineage back to Troskyites.

“I can’t figure out why some on the right are so enraptured with the Hare Krishna candidate.”

I’m not saying this in defense of Tulsi, because you are likely right on with your assessment. But Tulsi is very likable, and that is worth a great deal in politics, perhaps more than positions and policies. Plus, she’s something of an unknown factor and you know how people love them.
