I’m not ready for a world where Arizona has two Democratic senators

Yeah, yeah, I know: “They had two Democratic senators when McCain and Flake were there.” Har dee har.

The dirty little secret about Maverick and Flake is that they almost always voted with Trump and McConnell. There was one enormous exception to that rule, when McCain voted no on ObamaCare repeal, but on most legislative matters and judicial confirmations they were on the team.

Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly won’t be. And if you believe this new poll from OH Predictive Insights, those are the two people who’ll be representing Arizona in the Senate in 2021.

Retired astronaut Mark Kelly leads [Sen. Martha] McSally, the retired fighter pilot-turned-politician, by a 46 percent to 41 percent margin, according to the poll conducted by OH Predictive Insights, a Phoenix-based pollster, and released first to The Hill…

McSally has fallen behind, the poll suggests, as President Trump’s standing takes a hit in Arizona. Just 47 percent of likely voters in the state approve of Trump’s job performance, down from 50 percent in May and 54 percent in October. His disapproval rating has risen from 46 percent last October to 52 percent today…

If McSally were another person, she might point out the obvious: Mark Kelly doesn’t represent the people of Arizona, unless you define the “people” to be Mexican nationals from Sonora.

He’s just a carpetbagger...like her.

Did Mark ever go plinking in Redington Pass as a kid? Does he go shooting now in Molino Basin? Has he ever been to the shooting range at Usery? No? Then what kind of an “Arizonan” is he?

A guy from North Jersey has no idea what the State and the people are like. He probably couldn’t tell you why Mormons from Eastern Arizona like Flake or the Udalls can get elected there. Meaning that he’d be a complete stranger to EVERYONE in East Mesa.

If the Republicant party had a clue it would be easy to dump this grifter. But since they offer no real choice, the guy with the bigger marquee name wins.

Mark Kelly has nothing to do with Arizona and is only looking for a way to get back to DC as a “Big Man” like McCain was.

This just tells me that even if Trump wins, we’re still going to lose the Republic.

Oh, I believe that the Republic is lost. Trump has been a very welcome delay

No, but I’ve seen pics of them plinking out there back door. Which is okay for them. Just not for us.

“only separation with left will work. we’ve lost the demographics and we cannot coexist with the left.”

True, but that’s like curing metastatic cancer. How do you separate when they’re everywhere we are?

Yep. And it’s not just Arizona. I’m 60+ years old. I’m rather certain I’ll see Texas turn solid Democrat in my lifetime. To the doubters: There was a time not so long ago when California was solid Republican.

I thought Ducey was going to run against her in the primary? because that’s the only reason he would have appointed such a pathetic candidate as mcsally

I think Ducey promised McSally that he would appoint her when Kyl stepped down, if only she would concede quickly when she ‘lost’ to the ‘former’ Communist, Sinema. Ducey has been a YUGE disappointment. Kelly will be THE WORST. But thanks to Maricopa Country Recorder, Adrian Fontes (a candidate from ‘Our Revolution’), no Republican will ever win in AZ again (or at least as long as HE is counting the votes). Maricopa County is the largest county in AZ and he manipulated the votes in 2018. He will do it again.

McSally is uninspiring. A GOP Inc hack hand picked by the strange Arizona GOP.

She lost an election decisively and still somehow wound up in the Senate. You’d think she would have some dignity and step aside - the voters have spoken.

She evidently doesn’t have that minimal amount of dignity.

I would definitely consider partitioning the country at this point. South and Midwest go on to prosperity, blue cities fall even deeper into Third World squalor.

And I will say one more thing — this has everything to do with the fact that Mexicans and other Latino migrants are racially and culturally inferior. I cannot describe how much I have come to hate these parasites.

Troublesome as African-Americans often are, they at least are our fellow citizens and the best of them are pretty darn good, like Justice Thomas and Dr. Ben Carson. It’s not entirely their fault that they’ve been swindled by rich Left-wing elitists.

I didn’t start out as a “racist” but I sure am one now — mainly because I follow current events and draw what I believe are appropriate conclusions. The USA should not be a social safety net for failed states in Latin America.

This isn’t rocket science. We allowed our young to be indoctrinated, and didn’t require any kind of training in critical thinking. Then, we let the political class open the borders.

We didn’t close enough attention. We didn’t demand that the political class do our bidding. We had options, we are running out of options.

The chickens are coming home to roost. It’s the only thing I can think of that makes being old seem like a good thing.

“McSally has fallen behind, the poll suggests, as President Trump’s standing takes a hit in Arizona.”

Hogwash! McSally SUCKS, both as a campaigner and as a Congresscritter!

She lost to SINEMA - who, BTW, is doing a VERY good job of acting like a moderate Democrat. Sinema votes with Trump when she can and when it won’t hurt the Democrats. She toes the line when needed on tight bills or judicial nominations. I don’t like it but I’m betting she will be another DeConcini (1977-1995)and will be in the Senate for decades.

But McSally is a pee-poor candidate. Always has been! If she loses, it won’t be because of Trump. It will be 100% her own pathetic self!

Yup. Orange County (the last GOP "stronghold") voter registrations just swung from R to D.

“These are actually just additional US Senators for California, just like the two in Nevada.”

That is stupid. Arizona has had Democrat senators before. It is more a libertarian state than a conservative one. But it is NOT in any way California-lite!

“the only way to cure Leftists of their insanity is through shooting or hanging.”

So where’s the downside to this?

Besides ridding our country of pests, you’ll also raise the average IQ level considerably.

I think Martha will lose and Sinema will get votes from both parties based on how she has voted in D.C.

I agree completely. There will eventually be another Democrat president. But he/she will not be in the Truman or JFK mold. That Democrat will be an insane leftist. Then it will be a very quick downhill slide.

Because of my grandparents, I am eligible for Hungarian citizenship. Maybe I should look into that, just as a back-up.

Sinema has been 10 times the senator that McSally has been. She is not a conservative. Oh wait...which she? Neither is a conservative. McSally wouldn’t even say she preferred Trump over Hillary!

To be honest, if I had to vote 2016’s Senate race over again, I’d be tempted to vote for Sinema. And THAT is why McSally is in trouble - she turns off Republicans and cannot win Democrats. She isn’t “independent” either. Just...a boat adrift, not seeming to care anything about anyone in Arizona.

I keep screaming about that every turn I get only to be flamed by another Texan freeper here!! This might very will be the last republican presidential candidate elected in our beloved state! My city, which economically is way down in the barrel has exploded in population...how's that if there are no big corporate jobs here? ..jobs are very limited here! We are the gateway to the USA and some rather not make the track to the unknown interior so the majority settle in our city because of the freebies and our culture somewhat resembles Mexico's. ! And this is one city along the border...the illegal invasion will sooner or later start making HUGE inroads for the evil rats!! If Texas goes so does the rest of the nation!😢

“So far” Sinema has been a pleasant surprise in how she represents Az. But no major firearms bills have been tested on her yet, this will be the real test.
