The reason Greenland is Danish at all, is because it was a Norse Viking colony.
Eric the Red with his son Leif Erikson who went all the way to the American continent.
So, Greenland was Norwegian for the longest time along with Iceland, but when Denmark took over Norway - they took over all those territories too...
And, with Norwegian independence later, those areas stayed with Denmark.
Norway infact tried to annex Greenland or take it back.
Under a certain minister called Quisling in the 1930’s.
I think it ended up with some international court ruling that it belonged to Denmark.
Thanks for that.
The point I was trying to make is that Greenland is the opposite of North America. Rather than Europeans chasing out Indians and taking their land, on Greenland, the indians, Inuit, effectively outpopulated the Europeans and predominate.
We heard what Trump has said he thinks would be good and what the danes say would be bad. Now we must hear from the Greenlanders.
They have an opportunity most folks never have. What do we want?
