Fans of Yamamoto will say he was simply too far ahead of his time.
from a guy who knew about it but had almost no interest in auto racing ...
I remember the few times I would see it on TV, the stadiums were packed.
My 9 year old grandson is hot about NASCAR and goes to all the races he can, so I now watch a little more.
I am absolutely stunned that there is nobody in the stadiums.
How do they even turn the lights on ?
I can’t recall the exact words but many years ago, Bill France Jr. made some statements which were out of left field. Have not watched NASCAR since.
I remember the days when the big Fords, Pontiacs, Dodge/Plymouths, Chevys etc. with their 427 C.I. V-8s were real bodies from the manufacturer. It was a different world and a better world.
“Screw NASCAR. Teach those guys to make right turns!”
I see what you did there.
It’s been a rather liberal organization since it started catering to women years ago.
Yamamoto was a big fan of America, had studied two years at an officers' program at Harvard, and wanted no part of a war with America. The brass ordered him to write the plan for Pearl and the Pacific, and lead the charge. They would have just executed him if he'd refused.
Too bad we didn't manage to hijack him and his family out and put him to work for us. Too bad we had to shoot him down after Midway instead. That's the kind of immigrant you want!
Stupid,Stupid,Stupid!!
Car crashes cause more deaths than guns, yet they still drive around tracks at nearly 200 miles an hour.
Well NASCAR I’ve already started transitioning away from NASCAR for a multitude of reasons and this one is certainly one of those reasons that is more important to this former fan.
What is with these foolish corporations that seek to appeal to those who really don’t like the, who actually disdain and ridicule them, with their apparent need to be considered “hip”?
NASCAR: going the way of Gillette in 3, 2, 1....
Have you checked out the gaggle of c&w “artists” lately that are POS libs and anti 2nd Amendment assclowns? NOT the Nashville it used to be.
Great post. That idea should be spread far and wide, and aimed right back at NASCAR.
Isn't the entire concept of driving stock looking cars at extreme speeds just an invitation for young people to drive too fast on the roads? How dare they lead the impressionable children of America along the path of driving fast. Speed is a factor in nearly every fatal automobile accident.
I suggest we implement common sense driving laws that limit the speeds at Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Las Vegas and the other NASCAR tracks to something safer, like 55 MPH, by limiting the engines to 50 horsepower. Think of the reduced greenhouse emissions, and how NASCAR can set an example for safe driving in America. Think of how many young NASCAR drivers would still be alive if a 55 MPH speed limit was enforced, or if the cars were only allowed to have 50 horsepower engines.
They each KNOW what the other is trying to do...Much, much different than on any highway where you have no earthly idea what the driver in front of you, beside you, or behind you is going to do next...
Worth
With a 2007 estimated net worth of US$1.5 billion, France was ranked by Forbes as the 664th-richest person in the world and as the third-wealthiest American motorsports personage.

I guess they think there weren’t enough empty seats at the Bristol night race. A race that was once sold out in perpetuity. Now they need a transvestite outreach program.
Is it even remotely possible that NASCAR thinks the Man-Bun crowd, ANTIFA and the Pussy-Hat Girls will step in
to replace the classic NASCAR fans they are driving off with their constant pandering to the left?
Nobody NEEDS that much horsepower. Ten horse max and no more full auto transmissions.
