Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden added to his recent pile of gaffes on Friday when he claimed that over 40 students were shot during a 1970 Vietnam War protest at Kent State.
The former vice president was making a point about when he first became politically aware in the 1960s and 1970s, comparing the hypothetical assassination of former President Barack Obama to the very real murders of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. "My senior semester they were both shot and killed. Imagine what would have happened if, God forbid, Barack Obama had been assassinated after becoming the de facto nominee. What would have happened in America?" he asked the audience at his New Hampshire town hall to ponder.
"Things changed," he added. "You had over 40 kids shot at Kent State on a beautiful lawn by the National Guard." However, Biden's claim about the Kent State shooting is not accurate, as four students were killed and nine others injured when members of the Ohio National Guard opened fire on a crowd gathered for a protest. The 76-year-old's latest mishap follows concerns from Democrats about his mistakes on the campaign trail. Among his verbal gaffes in recent weeks were his claim that he was still vice president during the 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting and his remark that "poor kids" are just as smart as "white kids."
He also confused Burlington, Vermont and Burlington, Iowa while campaigning in Iowa last week and even mixed up the locations of two mass shootings earlier this month.

Most of the dead and injured were in an around a parking lot that was on elevated ground behind the mob.
One of the dead was an ROTC student who was packing up his car to leave (The mob had burned down the ROTC building the night before)

Joe tries to make it sound like he was a young pup when King and Kennedy were shot. His “senior semester” he was 26 and already had several student deferments to avoid Vietnam. Just one of many over-educated liberals who stayed in grad school so that somebody else could be shot at in their place. This clown became a US Senator at 31 and has never looked back, just living off US taxpayers.
Maybe he could quit politics (hooray) and become a college comedy cavern basement ad lib improv standup comic.

Fwiw, the “Kent State massacre” is ONE of the BIGGEST LIES ever told by the National Network’s press.= The TRUTH was that the OHARNG members FIRED BACK at the area where they believed that “someone” was shooting AT the Guardsmen.
When I was TXARNG Summer Camp in 1972 (I was then a 1LT of the 3/143rd Texas Infantry Regiment), I met/spoke with a SFC from the unit (which was involved in the so-called “massacre”) & who stated that he was a SP4 on the day that the “shooters fired into our ranks & then fled the area before our troops returned fire.” and “There were at least a pair of snipers in nearby buildings who fired on us too.”
Pardon me for BELIEVING an honest/sincere Senior NCO of the OHARNG, who was actually present/involved in the incident, rather than “reporters”, who were NOT present at that time/place & only reported “second or third hand reports” of the events of that day.
(The “mainstream media” LIES about as often as they are truthful.)

Well, that’s as stupid a remark as all the others he’s made. Did he become politically aware in the ‘60’s, forgot it and became aware again in the ‘70’s? Don’t tell him but I don’t think the man has ever been aware - OF ANYTHING! How great it would have been years ago to have him psychoanalyzed. Too late now.

I think he needs to tell us what he thinks would have happened if that had taken place. We wouldn’t have had to live through 8 years of that bum’s corruption is the answer.
