that’s true and the polls indicate that, but if Bidn manages to keep it together long enough to crawl across the Dem nomination finish line, he’s not going to be able to avoid looking truly awful in the debates with Trump ... that would really hurt with the independents, and probably many Dems as well ...

I kinda wonder about that whole donation thing for any of them; most are avowed radical kommies and, i suspect among many Dem circles there’s not a whole lot of enthusiasm for that, particularly if they believe Trump is likely to win anyway ...

I trust the man implicitly to handle any of the 20 Smurfs. Even so, I’m sure he’d prefer a free-swinging contest. Maybe the best pick would be crazy Berny. He’s definitely a high-energy guy, like many lunatics.

No doubt he would be destroyed by Trump, but Trump should walk the straight and narrow and at least feign “respectfullness”, because if continues on dealing with Biden the nominee in the mocking way he has been, he could send hundreds of thousands of sympathy votes Biden’s way. Two or three months ago I was sure Biden would be the nominee, then I could almost “feel” Warren trending upwards even before the polls that showed that to be so, re: Biden’s numbers...current polls have borne me out. Mayor Pete will not be left out of the mix:everything about him smacks of “Perfect Veep Material” for whoever the Dem candidate for Pres. winds up being.

True. My theory is that 90% of voters are so clueless that they may as well be flipping a coin. So 45% becomes is the floor in a two way race.
Even if President Trump mops the floor with the Democrat, and takes, say, 70% of the independent-thinking 10% of voters, that is still a close race at 52% to 48%.

Perhaps not, but as soon as there is a presumptive nominee, the MSM will make it appear as if the Democrats are 100% unified behind their choice. They will declare radio silence and sweep all Democrat infighting under the rug - and we will hear no more discord.
Any time twenty five candidates get culled down to just one, there are going to be hard feelings and resentment - and they don’t just go away. Just as supporters of Bush, Cruz and other sore losers failed to get behind Donald Trump in 2016, the Democrats will have their sore losers as well.
The difference is that the MSM will sweep Democrat infighting under the rug, not wanting to make their beloved party look weak, whereas in 2016, the MSM took every opportunity to hype Republican infighting in order to hurt their chances.
