I heard Abe say POTENTIAL purchase. I hope it really does pan out that they do buy it.

Let’s not get too carried away with Trump’s blustering and boasting. Let’s wait for the dust to settle to find out the fine print and whether this amounts to much.

Yep. There is not a doubt based on recent studies that the Aztec, Mayan and Incan societies came to premature endings owing to a diet of primarily corn./s.

My father ALWAYS specified that his family was from northern Italy. My mother ALWAYS specified that she was from southern Sweden. My dad ALWAYS specified that he drank Kentucky bourbon.

Agreed, but I believe that there is something in HFCS that causes obesity all out of proportion to the grams of carbs in HFCS.

After congress raise the tariffs on sugar to protect half a dozen sugar cane farmers in south Florida, soda manufacturers switched to HFCS as a sweetener as did bakers and ice cream makers. When sugar was the sweetener of choice, I was always the fattest kid in class. It wasn't long after HFCS replaced sugar in everything that my girth wasn't too far out of the "normal" range.

<rant>

When I was a kid, I was always the fattest kid in class, thyroid issues, diagnosed by an oxygen uptake test. Given thyroid supplement, I slimmed down to merely heavy.

Then we moved, the new doctor wouldn't give me thyroid because my PBI was fine. I bloated back up in a matter of months. I waddled into his office and said "Thyroid please?" "No, your tests are fine."

Then we moved, the new doctor wouldn't give me thyroid because my T-3 was fine. Still fattest kid in the class, though.

Then we moved, the new doctor wouldn't give me thyroid because my T-3RU was fine. Still fattest kid in the class, though.

Then we moved, the new doctor wouldn't give me thyroid because my T-4 was fine. Still fattest kid in the class, though.

Then we moved, the new doctor wouldn't give me thyroid because my TSH was fine. Still fattest kid in the class, though.

Mercifully, I got thyroid cancer, and my thyroid was removed. Now they had to give me levothyroxine. The 30 lbs I lost due to the cancer are still gone. Haven't yet succeeded in beating the only doctor in 50 years who will give me any to increase the dose a little. It seems my TSH says I'm fine. It's more important to treat the lab results than the patient...

Sorry, Chairman Kaga of the original Iron Chef would disagree.

He hosted a corn battle at Kitchen Stadium between a top French chef vs. a top Japanese chef.

Full episode:

I think this pretty much settles it. Chairman Kaga has spoken.

LOL. I do, however, encourage you to start exercising. Even if you walk on the treadmill for five times a week, you will see improvement.

Everything in moderation. Although I wouldn’t be too concerned about what the French have to say. They’re better than everyone else in their minds. You’d think the polite thing to do would be to just not eat it and keep your mouth shut...but they have issues in that department.

Grains — all of them — are poison.

Man does not live on bread alone, but he does live on bread. Our Lord served grains at the Last Supper. Matza is an important part of Passover. In most parts of the world, grain was one of the few ways to store food long term to allow civilization itself to develop. No canning or refrigeration was available.

If you like, you can make a case against modern processing of grains (pesticides, hybridization, GMOs, etc.) but calling all grains poison is a stretch.

If you eat any grain whatsoever, make vertical slits in your wrist and enter a hot-water bathtub.

The results will be the same, but the latter will be quicker.

I’m going to have to share that with my co-worker who had Type II. She eats an ear of corn every day at lunch.

But still doesn’t explain why I don’t eve have PRE diabetes.

Because you have a healthy pancreas that can handle it.

Diabetes who develop diabetes after putting on weight have a weak pancreas that can not keep up with the amount of food they eat.

When they cut down their pancreas can once more keep up. Providing that in the interim they have not damaged it with the any one of a dozen things that can harm your pancreas.
