We cannot undo America's sordid history, but we can at least take down the monuments glorifying it. In the wake of the recent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville against the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue, confederate monuments are coming down all over the country. Protesters in Durham, North Carolina toppled a statue put up by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1924. The mayor of Baltimore had the city's Confederate statues removed under the cloak of night. And yesterday, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the 90 foot bas relief sculpture of three Confederate generals to be blasted off the face of Stone Mountain.
"It is 2017, and now is the time for us to have a conversation about removing the last vestiges of that type of hatred and that type of vitriol toward minority communities in Georgia," Abrams told local news.
In response to calls like Adams', right-wing sites began rhetorically asking, What's next, blowing up Mount Rushmore? But given the racist history that both Stone Mountain and Mount Rushmore share, is there something more to that question than alarmism alone?

This is where we are. We dismantle Confederate statues, change the name of George Washington school, as was done in New Orleans, change the name of Jeff Davis Highway, which will happen soon in Virginia, delete the name of JEB Stuart High School in Virginia, which happened recently.
So a next logical step is to sand blast Stone Mountain in Georgia, and then sand blast Mt. Rushmore.
They are no different. Evil can not create. It can only deface or destroy, that is how you know evil.
I believe this may fall under a violation of my and many others right and I believe that is in that pesky document the Bill of Rights... Just saying...
I kept waiting for the last stand in the south against the things that were removed but it seemed like there wasn’t much noise at all or protests.

The SJW’s at UT Austin tore down a statue of an old white guy because he was an old white guy who lived a long time ago.
He was the founder of the University.

Democrats do not give a rat's patoot about this Constitution thing. They want it gone. They will use it's white racist invented oppressive rule to hide behind until a Communist utopia can be created.
They want "fair" rather than "free". Fair, to them, means that no one is allowed to be stronger, smarter, or richer than they are, and they will kill to achieve it.
They will eventually go after Mount Rushmore.

I’d like to see a list of politicians who have demanded that Confederate statues come down.
None of them will be allowed to stand up to this.
Wonder if the next Democrat liberal president will order it to be blasted.
Isn’t it time to move on and try to deal with current problems? Let history be history and focus on where we are today.
These George Soros funded groups are hell-bent on fomenting a race war.
