An Amendment cannot be legislated away. It would take another Amendment process to get rid of the Second Amendment.
Get rid of the 2nd Admendment, the rest of the Bill Of Rights falls.
Red flag laws.
Normally I would agree with you, but the Red Flag laws represent a serious threat if allowed to take hold because they are targeted at a particular group of people not all people yet can be applied to anyone on a slippery slope of ever-changing red flags. They have to be struck down in toto.
Governments and their comrades in arms will assuredly release names of gun owners in an attempt to intimidate. What then?
So here’s the question I had for my congressman and assemblyman whom both posted about ‘red flag’ legislation today. Tell me why custodial care isn’t automatically assigned?
You’ve established through proceedings that the person is a danger to themselves or others. You’re stripping them of their guns as a protective measure. And then you what, let them on the street to go rent a Penske truck and drive through a crowd? Use a knife to kill their roommates (oh, hey, hi SB mass murderer whom is the poster child for this law.. killed more with his knife than his gun.)
You’ve established they’re crazy and then you...just leave them out to do whatever. That makes no sense at all.

The Second Amendment has already been violated by the Lautenberg Amendment to the VAWA and many other laws. Anti-Second-Amendment politicians and their constituents don’t care about due process, and the Supremes have shown that they’ll simply refuse to hear some cases important to Second Amendment rights.
Fifth: "nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law"
Sixth: "to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor"
