An eight-year-old boy is in trouble with police after they say he took his mothers Volkswagen Golf for a high-speed joyride on one of Germany's famous autobahns. While that would be a big enough story on its own, the little speed demon had already been caught doing the same thing just a few days earlier, when police let him off without any citations.
Remember this kid? He wasn't so lucky this go around as he'll face some genuine consequences for his adrenaline-fueled escapades. Police say he was busted the first time for a jaunt down the autobahn traveling at speeds of up to 87 miles per hour in the same VW Golf. He became unnerved by the drive and pulled over at a rest stop to regroup when his mother caught up with him, along with the cops, whom the boy told he "just wanted to drive a little."
This trip, however, ended a bit more
abruptly for the grade-schooler. Its obvious the boy felt braver the second time around as he was busted for running red lights and breaking several other traffic laws, reaching a speed of 110 mph on the highway. His newfound confidence was clearly misplaced, though, because police found the kid in a parking lot off the motorway, where hed crashed into a trailer attached to a parked truck. Police say he has experience racing go-karts, but it appears that didnt prepare him for full-on autobahn speeds.

Why is this about the kid? 8 year olds don’t get access to a car in any reasonable household.
Last time I saw this it was 112 MPH.
rwood
He must be a Kraftwerk fan.
110 MPH? The German cops must have arrested him for impeding traffic on the autobahn.
Isn't the Autobaun metric?

Well, this senior citizen started driving when she was eight. Granted, we lived in the country, and granted I was very tall for my age. We would just hop in the car and drive it around (not to town, of course). My brother beginning at age 7 would drive to another property to feed the cattle every morning. . .basically my Dad worked away to keep us on the farm. . .but I wouldn’t trade any of the country living for city life. Now we have four wheelers driven by young and old alike zooming down the country roads at alarming rates of speed without any regard to on-coming traffic. The kids are even behind the wheel of these four-wheelers in-town.
Kind of on the slower side really. Not even 2 miles a minute. My record is 10.6 miles a minute.
Sounds like good times.
I have enjoyed life in the city but at 51 what you describe sounds like Heaven now.
Well, the earlier times.
Sounds like you got some traffic now too
Go big!
I...cant...drive...
Fifty-fiiiiiiive!!!
Good for you kid!

You kind of imply that you were on Apollo 10. If so...Respect!!
Tach it up! Tach it up! Buddy, gonna shut you down...!
Yeah, it happened on the strip where the lane is wide
Two cool sharks sittin side-by-side
Yeah, my fuel-injected Stingray and a 4-13
It sounded real rough and kinda mean...
Whats the big deal? He was practicing his Golf swing on the driving range!
Sorry, thought I saw per second, but speed of sound is still good
A future Michael Schumacher ....
