May be you forget that SEAL's are Navy sailors. They've been in Iraq and Aftganiscrap for years and probably still are. That said, no way would a SEAL Captain be in the kill zone after reaching that rank. They, along with CIA, and other JSOC types of that rank are at the strategic level. That was a problem I had with the TV series "Last Ship". The full bird Captain was involved in almost every ground incursion.
