CNN commentator Steve Cortes met with President Donald Trump Friday after CNN benched him for dispelling the “Charlottesville hoax” that the president once called Neo-Nazis “very fine people.”
Cortes was seen leaving the White House Friday afternoon, and a source familiar with the situation reported that President Trump met with the CNN contributor in solidarity.
A source said that CNN benched him and prevented him from appearing on CNN for disputing the mainstream media “very fine people hoax.”
The mainstream media– as well as former Vice President Joe Biden — have continued to insist that Trump referred to Neo-Nazis as “fine people.” Cortes and many others have disputed this claim.
During a press conference after the Charlottesville rally in 2017, Trump said, “I’m not talking about the Neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally – but you had many people in that group other than Neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay?”
Cortes has fought the Charlottesville hoax for months.
The CNN contributor wrote in an op-ed for Real Clear Politics in March, referring to Trump’s quotes condemning Neo-Nazis, “These Charlottesville statements leave little room for interpretation.”
“For any honest person, therefore, to conclude that the president somehow praised the very people he actually derided reveals a blatant and blinding level of bias,” he added.

CNN and the rest are bound and determined to keep the truth from leaking out. They have their narrative to push and nothing and no one is going to stand in their way.

Cortes might be a prime candidate to replace that blabbermouth heifer who resigned/was fired for telling tales out of school about the Trump family. Someone with a spine, who is loyal and honorable.
During the Charlottesville event I was listening to a radio broadcast with an on-scene reporter who did a good job describing what he was and the lead-up. He is what I know from the on the scene report:
1. The city granted a permit for a gathering at the confederate statue in a park. Because of the threat to the confederate statue, people who supported keeping the statue as it was, began to gather. There was one or some who identified as “white supremacist.” Others were just people who didn’t want anything to happen to the statue, probably some towns people and university students - just everyday folks. None of these people were armed or wore protective gear.
2. The”Antifa” troops arrive, armed with clubs, with protective clothing, and they are on the street. And this group starts to cause a ruckus.
3. Then the police rescind the park permit and order the group in the park to leave. The police were forcing them to leave the park. There is no way out except on the street where Antifa is waiting for them.
4. The group who had been at the statue were unprepared for the violence and took a beating.
5. The group who had been at the statue stand accused of causing the riot.
That is how I understood the on-the-scene radio report. And, if my memory hasn’t completely gone. the media and Democrats have the story completely wrong. What say ye!!!

I'm a person who objected to mobs tearing down statues AND history ... I didn't like it when 'liberals' did it - or when when crazies in the Middle East were blowing up Buddha statues. Something about mob rule and destroying the past doesn't sit well with me. That said, the KKK and Nazis suck - just as CNN with their lies sucks. Same wellspring...
"Journalists" at CNN know the truth - that good people can object to mobs taking the law into their own hands - but they go with the lie because they're sluts, whores and pretentious men at CNN (not that they would object if we lied about them - right?)
I still have a problem that when the antifa folks started pounding on the young guy’s car, he hit the gas hitting another car which hit a woman and killed her can be found to be murder.
If anything antifa attacking the guys car with clubs, which is on video should cause them to be guilty of the murder.

Very good news and brings us all hope that more will speak up. It was clear to anyone who listened to the president and what he said was absolutely true and what was reported was absolutely false. They could play his original words on their broadcasts and STILL not admit that he was not defending anyone’s behavior - the blame was spread equally. It wasn’t anything except people showing up to PROTEST the taking down of statues of men in our history who won the honor and allegiance of our country. For that they were labeled extremists of all kinds! Anyone with a brain would have understood that but it didn’t draw in viewers or sell papers.
