I support Israel perhaps 99% of the time. But I do have a question. There article says that Palestine is a mythical nation. Okay. But then how do we properly classify those Muslims who live there? Should we refer to them as Muslim Israelis? Jordanians? Displaced persons? Invaders?
None of those make any sense, especially if the persons family has lived there for centuries. I dont have any answers. Perhaps someone else does.
Side note: Referring to those folks as Muslim Israelis would be, I think, the worst option of all. Because oil and water dont mix, and never will. Consider India before the partition.
They're Arabs. That's how they refer to themselves. They are not displaced. They are the ones that didn't leave in 1948, or descendants of those who didn't leave in 1948

I think you would be surprised about this if you would visit Israel. I remember 20 years ago pulling into a gas station, and Arab attendant stopped his conversation to pump gas for me. (They still do this in Israel!) He must have noticed that I had a rental car and he asked me where I was from. I answered, and then he continued, "Welcome to Israel, my friend."
