David Simon, a former journalist for The Baltimore Sun and executive producer of HBO's The Wire (2002-2008), used Twitter to express his desire that God use Hurricane Dorian to destroy Mar-a-Lago, a National Historic Landmark sometimes used for presidential meetings that is owned by President Donald Trump, who refers to it as the "Winter White House."
"After the last three years, the work of a just and righteous God cannot be considered credible evidence of His goodness unless He picks all of Mar-a-lago up by the roots, sails it across half of Florida and heaves it on top of Doral and its every last bedbug," tweeted Simon on Aug. 31, in response to a tweet that Mar-a-Lago was then in the projected path of Hurricane Dorian.

Oh, the faces of sad haters for the heavens sparing Mar-a-Lago and Florida from much of the destruction.
BTW, Mar-a-Lago was supposed to be the Winter Whitehouse and it once was a National Park until it proved to be too costly for taxpayers. Its history is most interesting.

I agree. And, if a few dozen employees are killed in the process, well then they are just collateral damage. Clearly, as far as Simon is concerned, those employees should have known better than to work for the President. I do wonder, though, whether people like Simon actually think about what they say before they say it?
Looks to me like God heard the prayer of Governor Ron DeSantis: Florida has largely been spared the brunt of Dorian.

People who think profanity is “using G-d’s name in vain” are generally mistaken.
This would probably be a better example of a violation of said commandment.
A more direct violation is saying “G-d loves sodomy” or something patently false and attributing it to G-d.
But this is very similar.
Doesn’t Trump occasionally have wounded veterans as guests for free at Mar-a-Lago? That scumbag “journalist” is all heart. But we all know that his outburst was merely a cheap attempt to solidify his cred with all the other haters in the media. It has become a version of “Can You Top This?!” Someone of his ilk will now attempt to be even MORE assinine.
