David Hogg: Today’s Mass Shootings Stem from America’s ‘Indigenous Mass Shootings’(T)

Friday on MSNBC’s All In, March for Our Lives co-founder David Hogg discussed what he believed was the origin of mass shootings in the United States.

Hogg said, “I think it comes down to reckoning with our history and our history of white supremacy in the United States. The fact that we live in a post-genocidal society oftentimes that was orchestrated by the United States government in that if we want to talk about mass shootings, we need to recognize the massive number of indigenous mass shootings that was conducted by the United States government. I think back to the battle of Wounded-Knee and the several hundred Native Americans, predominately men, woman, and children that were slaughtered by the United States government back in the nineteenth century. And how that is never discussed as a mass shooting. And that was wrong because those people were not armed, and we were stealing their land.”

Are there any other kind of people? Reminds me of a warning on Christmas lights: “for indoor or outdoor use only”.

Colonists had LONG memories, and just because some native wasn’t an Iroquois didn’t make them innocent. It was just payback.

Of course. And when three generations has passed and no one heard the horror stories from someone who had lived through them, you start to hear of the “noble savage’. Starting in New England and then spreading west. In the far west this didn’t happen until the 20th century. Easterners were shocked by Wounded Knee, out west not so much, there were still folks around who could remember.

Imagine a human hunting you. A human who knows the land better than you do. A human who strikes without warning and then disappears. A human who seems to take pleasure in destroying your family and scattering their body parts with the intent to drive you mad. That’s what people faced in New England into the 1700s. It is why early New England farmers walked from their villages to farm their land, not live on the farm itself.

So yes, now that the Indians have been totally defeated and are no longer a threat to us, we can feel sorry about what happened to them. But before, they were a worthy and formidable foe—which is why sports teams are named after them.

HOGG is someone who thinks his utterings are persistently brilliant when they are predominantly idiotic!

"Long memories....Hmmmm...."

Seriously. The Wyoming Valley War was the subject of dozens of pamphlets and newspaper stories. After the War, when the movement West started, pioneers had preconceived notions about Indians, and the tribes did nothing to convince them otherwise. Demanding bribes for crossing their turf, stealing horses and cattle to eat, just for fun, did nothing to make things better.

Then, the War of 1812, and the British tried to buy Indian help, with bounties on scalps, and payment in scalping knives. The Indians demanded the fun of torturing prisoners as a perk.

Andrew Jackson and the Trail of Tears had a LOT of public support. All this gets left out of history. And for idiots like Hogg, the facts don't matter, anyhow.

As for the snowflakes, I'm estimating 25,000,000 dead...

I paraphrase this saying often: “Some people are born stupid and some work at it EVERY SINGLE DAY of their lives.”

BTW, my granddaughters have heard it enough times not to laugh. They see it all around them.

The direct “indigenous” descendants in my home are either doing homework, playing video games or munching on the Brie, Ham and light mustard on sliced baguette that I lovingly made for her in the kitchen right at this moment.

Hogg can shove any further commentary on white-indigenous discard up his mangina for all I care.

I’ve done my fair share of reading what the native savages did to settlers and colonists. A lot of what they did you couldn’t even write about even today. Most of the torture was so demonic that it’d make ISIS blush.
So yeah I get why the Trail of Tears was popular (and even Wounded Knee).

And you aim low with your snowflake estimate, but that’s just MHO.

Obviously he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut when he has no idea of what he is talking about! What is the quote: “Better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think you are a fool than to open it and prove their point.” or something like that. However, if you are a tool and idol of the mainstream media this gives you the “right” to display your stupidity and be praised for it. I do differentiate between stupidity and ignorance: ignorance can be cured with knowledge whereas stupidity is a fatal condition!!

I watched Ms Hogg on c-span a few months ago talking at some Governors meeting. He slouched in, sat down and used the F bomb and few times got a round of applause and walked out.

I wonder if other Harvard students realize that the prestige of their degree is eroded every time young Mr. Hogg opens his mouth.

Yet those Buffalo soldiers are cheered today, and there is a black motor cycle club calling themselves Buffalo soldiers.

...those people were not armed

The irony of that statement seems lost on him.

He can't spell, he doesn't know how to write the plural of woman, knows NO factual history of any kind, had lousy SATs, and NO college would accept him prior to what happened at Parkland. But now, NOW...he's at Harvard?

At least some of the AFFIRMATIVE ACTION students there are a bit brighter than he is and some are great at sports.
