My wife and I spent about 45 minutes with her back in 2009. She was not only as attractive as everybody said, but was both very nice and quite intelligent. But we are all schizoid to some degree when comparing our relationship with our spouse and our relationship with the rest of the world. One of them may have been pressing the other one’s buttons, or a midlife crisis hit hard.
People are people. Even people in the spotlight.
She appears all those things you said - plus she gives off quite a “I’m in control here” vibe. Todd has always seemed like a real easy going guy (which is what you would expect married to the former type of personality). Still, people do grow apart, and living apart for long periods (due to her national schedule the past decade, things can “get old”). I wish them both well.

Anyone remember they announced they were moving South a few months back? Maybe she wants to be closer to the political battle and he doesn't.
