Title: "Don Jr. is being anointed as his father's political heir and not Ivanka Trump because of his ability to whip up MAGA crowds claim insiders"
Donald Trump Jr is being touted as the political heir to his father's Republican Party, claims a new piece from The Atlantic, which touts a sibling rivalry between the eldest son and Ivanka Trump.
The nearly 10,000 word article touts a political power struggle between the two oldest children of Donald Trump - setting up a showdown between the eldest son who bears his father's name and the daughter working in the White House who was seen as the next keeper of the flame.
The piece is full of colorful, quotable bits - including quotes from the president expressing frustration with Donald Jr and his son-in-law Jared Kushner - and reports that Don Jr's and Ivanka's camps were backstabbing one another.
DailyMail.com reached out to several spokespeople for family members named in the piece for comment. Several declined to officially comment.
But Andrew Surabian, a former White House aide who acts as a spokesperson for Don Jr., tweeted in response: 'Why did @TheAtlantic refuse to print my on the record statement on behalf of Don Jr. in response to @mckaycoppins' false & thinly sourced piece? I've counted 25 instances of single sourcing or worse throughout McKay's piece.'
The report from McKay Coppins cites interviews with 'dozens of people close to the Trumps, including friends, former employees, White House officials, and campaign aides' in the writing of the story.
The article covers a nearly three-year time period going back to the 2016 presidential campaign to the current White House with the focus being on the Trump children and how they will carry forward in the family empire.

I like Ivanka, but she doesn’t have that same love for the fight needed to deal with the left these days.
Ivanka is very moderate, Don is a conservative - Being a moderate doesn’t get you very far.
Ivanka is all-in on gun control. HELL no.
Don and Eric are both decent, but I prefer Eric.
Sorry. Not interested in political dynasties.
Not from Kennedys, Clintons, Bushs, Obamas and Trumps.
“I like Ivanka, but she doesnt have that same love for the fight needed to deal with the left these days.”
She’s a Progressive and what’s worse, a New York Progressive.
This does not surprise me in the least!
Yeah I think I’ll pass on a fashion maven to head up the country.
Tiffany is the only natural born citizen of President Trump’s children.
Dan Crenshaw
Anointed by whom?
Thak God...!!!
That was CLOSE..!
Supports TAPS act, not voting for him.
Rubbish.
We do not have a monarchy and there is no assured dynastic succession in our Government.
Most likely, Donald Trump will be the last Republican President, and his children will have no political future.
Don Jr. was the liaison between Bolsinaro and Trump. In addition, D Jr. was also he set-up guy between the new mexican president and the WH.
He knows how to get along and meet with foreign allies. Ivanka does the same thing too, and her girly’ image will gain lots of women voters to the GOP. Either way, the dynasty talk is premature...
Seconded.
I vote for Don Jr. People love him.
Trump called Ivanka and Jared 'New York liberals' after they advocated for Paris climate accord by John Gage
September 09, 2019 03:07 PMPresident Trump was fed up with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's nagging during his attempt to pull the United States out of the Paris agreement.
"Theyre New York liberals," the president told a White House aide according to the Atlantic. "Of course thats what they think." Trump mocked the two for their "incessant lobbying" when they were not around.
In June 2017, the president pulled the U.S. out of the agreement, declaring, "I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh not Paris!"
Kushner and Ivanka, both senior advisers to Trump, have staked themselves out as two of the more moderate members of the Trump family.
Ivanka, 37, has made passing family leave a personal policy pet project of her father's presidency. During the 2016 Republican convention, she introduced her father in a speech that advocated for passing laws on equal pay for women and universal access to affordable childcare.
When Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris climate accord, Ivanka and Kushner skipped the president's announcement in the Rose Garden. She had told her friends that climate change was one of the fights she would be willing to pick to influence her father toward her more moderate policy positions.
Despite the occasional differences, the Trumps have kept their disagreements behind closed doors.
"So where I disagree with my father, he knows it, and I express myself with total candor," Ivanka said in a 2017 interview. "Where I agree, I fully lean in and support the agenda and hope that I can be an asset to him and make a positive impact. But I respect the fact that he always listens. It's how he was in business. It's how he is as president."
