We’ve known all of that for months/years.
This is basically about him leaking to the press. McCabe has committed crimes far more serious than that. We can only hope that he is charged with more crimes when the other investigations conclude. Wishful Thinking.
U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu must have had a come-to-Jesus conversation with AG Barr or one of his top Assistants.
If McCabe is going to be prosecuted, so will a dozen or more others.

McScab said he would take others down if he is charged.

McCabe leaked then lied about it and a grand jury recommended prosecution.

But his real value is his inside connection to the Clintons and to the Obama admin.

I tend to think it's the other way around. They have isolated him enough that they can portray him as a rogue actor who orchestrated whatever happened that looks bad and once they dispense with him they will be able to say "all that spying stuff is old news, we had a bad actor and we took care of him. He wasn't tied to anyone else, just a rogue and he's gone. Time to move on, this is old news". Brennan was too high up and too connected, same with Clapper. McCabe was a second tier guy who was only at the top for a short time, so he's the most expendable because he held the title but not long enough to really be in the club.

However, McCabe probably knows quite a lot about Hillary and co.
It will be sad to learn of his demise in a cell where the cameras malfunctioned in the hallway leading to his cell and the guards were on break/asleep/in the bathroom/having lunch.
Of course, he could go all public with all he knows before that. But like JE, he will probably hold back. Then the decision will be made that it will be better if he were dead.

If Barr wants to see the reputation of the DOJ restored to any extent, he needs to get on with the purging of all the many criminals therein. Hopefully he’ll move quickly.

Therefore, I expect some sort of accident such as a heart attack. It will appear to be an previously-undiscovered ailment. Then the body will be quickly cremated.

I told the fools at Yahoo McCabe was in big trouble. Of course, they don’t believe it. And yes, the line runs right to James Comey (and friends).
If the only charge brought is lying to the FBI about unauthorized leaks he will get a hand slap, unlike Michael Flynn who has had the book thrown at him. But if McCabe argues that he is not the only one that leaked and lied about it, like Comey, then he is being unfairly prosecuted since Comey was allowed to skate. Now, two wrongs don’t make a right but if McCabe feels like he’s the designated fall guy he just may reveal all of the skeletons in the closets.
